Product Information

  • Overview

Kwikset's Kevo Bluetooth-enabled deadbolt lock lets you unlock your door wirelessly with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and the Kevo app. You don't even need to take your iOS device out of your pocket or purse; just touch your lock and it recognizes you. No more fumbling for keys or memorizing codes.

    Send an eKey

If family, friends, or visitors need to enter your house, simply send an electronic key (eKey) to their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

    Free Kevo Mobile App

You can use the Kevo app for initial setup; for sending, disabling, and deleting eKeys; and for viewing history of lock activity. Plus, it lets you set up a variety of other configurable features and options.

    No iPhone—no problem

Each Kevo lock comes with one Kevo Fob. Keep your Fob in your pocket, purse, or backpack and enjoy the same Touch to Open convenience you have with your iOS device. Each Fob included with the lock is pre-enrolled, so there's no additional setup required. You can also purchase more Fobs for other family members.

  • This is a GREAT product... response to negative feedback

    5.0 out of 5 stars

This is my review of the product, and in addition, a response to the negative feedback above.

Chris R says, "the locking/unlock This is my review of the product, and in addition, a response to the negative feedback above.

Chris R says, "the locking/unlocking process didn't seem to quite work". I have had nearly no issues whatsoever with the lock unlocking, and definitely no issues with the lock locking. Any issues I have had with it unlocking are limited to 1 or 2 out of a hundred attempts. And the only "issues" are that it might take an additional tap to unlock the lock. HARDLY worthy of returning the item.

Chris R says, "I noticed that the outside is made of a cheap plastic. I'm worried that someone is going to slam the door, and the cover will just come off and shatter."

This is where I question your integrity, and whether or not you even purchased the lock to begin with. The outside is NOT made of "cheap plastic." That's factually false. The inside portion of the lock, as in, on the INSIDE of the door, has a plastic backing cover, as does ANY ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCK ON THE MARKET TODAY. Look at ANY Kwikset or Schlage electronic door lock - they all have the plastic cover covering the electronic components on the INSIDE of the door. To say the outside is made of "cheap plastic" is, well, a lie. Furthermore, your SPECULATION that "the cover will just come off and shatter" if someone "slams the door" is just that -- SPEC-U-LA-TION.

You can't write factually untrue statements, speculate, and otherwise slam a good product with 1-star review -- that' just not right.

I don't own stock or any portion of this company, I simply own this lock and really enjoy it, and I am disgusted by misinformation (potentially purposefully so) about an otherwise great, new, high-tech product.

    That is all.

I installed mine about a month ago and it installed easy, looks good and is a cool concept.
It only works 50 percent of the time I installed mine about a month ago and it installed easy, looks good and is a cool concept.
It only works 50 percent of the time and when it does it's slow. Quicker just to use your key which I
end up digging out the other 50 percent of the time anyway.
Sometimes it works when you don't want it to if you accidentally touch it when the door is open.
I'm probably going to get rid of it and go with a button code one...

    Wait for the next version!

  • When it works it's great-and getting locked out is not the best

I bought this and installed easily. Took a bit to configure it and had to call customer service twice. I am a tech person so I kno I bought this and installed easily. Took a bit to configure it and had to call customer service twice. I am a tech person so I know more than your average person about how things like this work. It wasn't too bad though and after figuring out I had to hold my phone in my hand a certain length from the door - it worked fairly well. At first I had to re-open my app a lot even though I was not closing it- small inconvenience that has appeared to stop after last update.
    The problems:
I began to notice that sometimes if I had phone in hand when opening my door & walking through the threshold to load things in the car the lock would activate and lock. I thought I was accidentally touching the lock somehow but eventually figured out I was not. It was just locking on its own. Again, minor inconvenience until one time I put my phone down on table by door INSIDE the house to pick up a box to load into the car and the door locked. I could hear the mechanizing start turning and could not put down box fast enough to prevent being locked out of the house for almost 2 hours waiting for husband to come unlock the door. We hid a by-pass key outside after that. I called the customer service again because this problem of locking on it's own happened almost every day. They said sometimes the locks can be ultra sensitive and will do that if just a breeze picks up or the breeze of someone walking past it --ok. He said he would send me a new one but I had to send the old one back. Well, since that is the lock on my door, that does not work. OR he said he would charge me for the new one and send it to me, and then I could package up and send the old one back for a refund. I keep intending to just go buy a key pad and replace it and take this back to home depot. It is a great concept but I don't have time to deal with all of the issues. We LOVE the concept if it worked consistently. Apparently some work consistently and some do not as evidenced in many reviews around the net.
