  • Overview

Start flying with the new Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Power Edition quadricopter—under the intuitive control of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and the FreeFlight app. View the Earth from above, in high definition, and share your experience with everyone on the Internet. And to give you maximum entertainment, this limited edition comes with two high-density batteries that increase your flight time up to 36 minutes.

    Recording and sharing in HD

During each flight, you can record an HD video that's sent directly to your iOS device. Download your video to YouTube with just one click from a user-friendly interface, or share your pictures on Picasa. Everything is simple and quick with wireless control application. If you want to save longer videos, a USB plug-in lets you store larger files.

    Intuitive control

Download the free FreeFlight control app from the App Store and prepare for take off. You just have to tilt your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to control the trajectory of the AR.Drone 2.0. The quadricopter stabilizes itself instantaneously if you don't touch the screen of your iOS device.

    Control assistance

The AR.Drone 2.0's automatic flight control system and the integrated sensors—which facilitate take off and landing—let you pilot the craft like an expert. It's also equipped with an exclusive and patented absolute control mode that adapts to your skills, making it perfect for beginners.

    Join a community of pilots

Keep your flight information (data, locations, photos, and videos) and share it with a worldwide pilot community using AR.Drone Academy. Discover pilots in action in your neighborhood and view videos from pilots around the world.

    Additional features

Using the AR.Drone 2.0 Wi-Fi N connection, the AR.Drone 2.0 can go up to 164 feet/50 meters from you (depending on your Wi-Fi environment). The integrated pressure sensor offers supreme stability, allowing the AR.Drone 2.0 to correct and maintain its position automatically whatever its altitude. It's also able to withstand wind speeds of up to 15 miles per hour maximum.

    Acrobatic maneuvers

The Flip is a maneuver exclusive to the AR.Drone 2.0. Be daring and perform flips by simply pressing twice on the screen of your control device.

I am disabled but can use my hand enough to fly this drone better than most people. The people who have problem probably didn't read the directions, flew really erratically, or can't use an iPhone in the first place.

The GoPro Hero 3+ is light enough the AR Drone should be able to easily carry the weight. Stability The GoPro Hero 3+ is light enough the AR Drone should be able to easily carry the weight. Stability may be more difficult, as the Drone is not specifically designed to counterbalance extra weight. Affixing the GoPro to the AR Drone may be the more difficult part, as there are no officially made mounts available. But in theory can be done, and has by several people. I suggest you do a google search. and observe other's home made mounts.

I've tested the Free Flight app on my iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display, iPod touch 5th generation, and iPhone 4s. The Drone flew just fine from all my iOS Devices. Same goes for Android. I've tested the same app for Android (obviously) on my Galaxy S4, HTC One, LG G2, Galaxy Note 3, G Flex, Moto X, Moto G, the list of Android devices I've tested on goes on for a while. The best Android device for the AR Drone is the Nvidia Shield. It's an Android powered handheld game console, but one of the main features is the console controller like layout. So you can fly the Drone with physical controls instead of a touch screen. Just Google "AR Drone Nvidia Shield" and check it out!
