Parrot, along with world-renowned French designer Phillipe Starck, have collaborated once again to create Zik wireless headphones. Integrating touch control, advanced technology, and sleek design, they deliver superb sound and comfort.
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
Four active microphones (two internal and two external) make this patented Parrot technology one of the best in its class in ANC. It provides up to 98% reduction, eliminating nearly all external sound.
An ultra-intuitive touch sensitive panel located on the right ear cup gives you easy control. When you're listening via Bluetooth, simply swipe up and down to increase and decrease volume, and forward and back to conveniently skip tracks. Also, a head-detection sensor automatically senses when you're wearing the headphones and when you're not. When you put the headphones around your neck, the music pauses and your call is switched directly to your mobile device. When you put the headphones back on, your music resumes.
Unique listening quality
When using a standard headset, your right or left ear can only hear music coming from the right or left side of the headset. To recreate true-to-life sound, Parrot has developed a unique specialization sound called the “Parrot Concert Hall” effect. So instead of hearing the music from the side, you feel as though the sound is coming from directly in front as if you were listening to a live concert.
Free yourself from wires
Listen to music or make crystal-clear calls seamlessly and wirelessly via Bluetooth. Choose to control your calls and music directly from your device manually or via voice recognition, earphone touch panel, or from Parrot's free Audio Suite App on an iPhone. Bluetooth streaming is available with all Bluetooth-compatible devices.
Parrot hands-free calling
Originally designed for Parrot car systems, hands-free calling is now part of Zik. It's specifically engineered for crystal-clear conversation. Equipped with two directional microphones and a Jawbone Conductor, the Zik captures the vibration of the jawbone and merges it with the sound of your voice for reliable calls. Thanks to the embedded head detection sensor, if you receive a phone call while listening to your music, you can remove your headphones and your call will be automatically be switched to your smartphone.
Free exclusive downloadable app
The Parrot Audio Suite is a free app you can download from the App Store for your iPhone. It lets you control all of your music wirelessly. For instance, you can adjust your audio settings to explore your favorite customized sound and simulate a virtual music scene creating your desired sound depth. The app also notifies you whenever there's a new software version so you can download it instantly.

I Love My Zik!

I've worn them in rain, and they work fine. The noise cancelling is a bit weak on an aircraft when no music playing, but they're great with music playing.
I regularly do 24+ hour flights, and 2 batteries hold on long enough, if I have no charging ports (some planes and my laptop are adequate.)
The EQ gives you good control (I don't know of any other headphones with the EQ function).
The voice calls sound superb.
The touch controls are brilliant. Sometimes when I yawn real hard it'll pause my music as it thinks I've taken them off. (It pauses when you lift off your head) but there is an option to turn off auto pause. Be sure to enable noise cancellation on calls.
But my absolute favourite thing with these phones is going through airport security.
I lift them off my head, stick them in the tray, walk through the metal detector, put them back on and my music is right where I left off. And I haven't clicked a single button or untangled cables or had to unlock my phone.
And the aircraft is not going to crash with bluetooth*. And not once has any steward(ess) stopped me from listening.
Also you don't look like one of those idiots with hipster beats headphones with an eq curve that looks like a downhill ski slope.
anyway. zik. all in all - excellent headphones, excellent eq control, excellent features, excellent (outstanding) design, but excessive price. plus you may need an extra battery.
*not yet, at least …

Perfect on an Airplane

I purchased the Zik's in the Philadelphia airport on the way to Portugal. They worked so well and were so intuitive that I would have sworn they were designed be Steve Jobs himself. And the audio reproduction and noise canceling functions made the long flight a breeze. I give them a STRONG BUY RECOMMENDATION! …

VERY impressed with the volume, frequency response and eq effectiveness.
OK you've heard about the fantastic sound and EQ app which is true, the ZIKs sound awesome and play loud! However there are a cou OK you've heard about the fantastic sound and EQ app which is true, the ZIKs sound awesome and play loud! However there are a couple of things that bug me the design of these cans. First the touch sensor sometimes gets triggered by accidental touches and also when you take them off you have to be careful not to touch the right ear piece wrong or it starts playing again so thankfully in the settings of the app you can turn off "auto pause". Also my Sennheiser MM550's battery has its own usb port so you can charge a spare and always be wire-free. Unfortunately the ZIK battery needs to be in the headphone while its charging so even though I have a spare battery sometimes I must run a usb charging wire between the headphones and a battery pack in my front pocket to simultaneously run the headphones and charge the battery. I have emailed Parrot with a request that they develop a AC/DC charger that can be plugged in to a wall outlet or connected to a 5 volt usb power source. Hopefully they heed my call and make the ZIK listening experience truly wire-free full-time. …

Next best thing after an iPod
1.) These are the best sounding headphone ever.

2.) The frame is solid and very robust
4.) Comfortable and plush
5.) The swipe and touch sensitive controls are totally cool and works awesome. There are no buttons or volume controls that you can see. There is an "On" button, all the other controls work with a tap or a swipe. This makes it so your not fiddling for a switch or roller to control volume. It's so intuitive it is like a reflex.
6.) The cheek sensor works flawless. What’s this? Let's say your listening to music and someone walks up so you lift the speaker from your ear so you can hear them, the music will automatically pause your song. Why does one need this? Because your 5-10 sec. question turns into 3 min. and you loose your place, this feature resolves that.
8.) The battery life is great
9.) Feature “tuned by Lou Reed” sounds awful.
10.) These are high dollar headphones and you are getting what you pay for. These are an exclusive and luxurious item that is not going to be worn by everybody on the airplane. These do sound better then Bose or Beats (go to the Apple store and listen to them side-by-side) and they are significantly designed and engineered better than any other headphone on the market. …

These are really awesome headphones. Before, I had been using the bose noise canceling for years. The problem with Ziks? They are These are really awesome headphones. Before, I had been using the bose noise canceling for years. The problem with Ziks? They are heavy and well made( not the problem) buuuuut the case that came with it, was a flimsy bag, not a hard sided case like bose gives. Because of this, I never felt comfortable keeping them in my bag because it's stuffed full and I didn't want to break them. Unfortunately, also because of this, I ended up leaving them in a taxi from the airport. :-( I ended up buying another pair of bose instead of a new pair of Ziks for the same reason. The stupid case!!!!!! I loved them and if they were in a hard case, I'd still have them and would be continuing to love them. This was a few years ago, so hopefully they've started giving a better case now. …

Beautiful but not for runners
These are the most stylish headphones I have ever had. Regretfully, I only had them for one day. As a runner, it was a nightmare These are the most stylish headphones I have ever had. Regretfully, I only had them for one day. As a runner, it was a nightmare, with each step I took, all I could hear were my footsteps. The music was drowned out and the vibration in my ears from each step running bothered me so much.
If you are looking for headphones to listen to music and movies while not running, then YES a great purchase. They are not good for runners, especially fashionable runners. I don't typically use headphones for anything else, so I returned them and am still looking for a wireless set.
....they are the best designed headphones ever! …

How can I pair the Parrot Zik with a Mac Computer?
- Asked by Danilo D from South Salt Lake

On Mac OS X 10.10, Zik Firmware version 1.10:
1- make sure the firmware on your Parrot Zik is up On Mac OS X 10.10, Zik Firmware version 1.10:
1- make sure the firmware on your Parrot Zik is up to date.
2- When it is, plug it to your Mac using a micro USB cable (one is provided with the Zik).
3- Turn your Zik on. Note: it must *not* be connected to another device. If it is (for example to your iPhone), then you will not be able to pair it with your Mac. If it is connected to your iPhone, the easiest (and perhaps only) way to disconnect it is to disable Bluetooth on the iPhone (if only temporarily).
4- Open the Mac System Preferences (in the Apple menu), and select the BlueTooth Icon. Make sure BlueTooth is on (and turn it on if it's not). On the right hand side, you can see the list of BlueTooth devices. On the top, the devices that have already been paired with the Mac. If any discoverable device is found, they will appear at the bottom, separated from the paired devices by a single thin black line.
5- Your Zik has never been paired with your Mac, so it shows in the bottom list. This is because the Zik is always in pairing mode (ie, it's discoverable) whenever it is *not* connected to a device. Click on the "Pair" button that should show beside its name. You will see a progress indicator (a rotating wheel), and after 10s or so, the Zik item will move to the top list, with a "Connected" status.
• When I tried the above, it failed many times before it succeeded. It succeeded as soon as I did step 2 above (plug the Zik in the Mac). This step should not be necessary however. It might have helped because this provided power to the Zik. My battery was perhaps 70% charged. This suggest:
• If it fails, try to fully charge the Zik before you try again
• If it fails, an "Options" button might appear in the device list on the line for the Zik. By pressing it, you can enter a pairing code, always "0000" (four zeroes) …
