When in place, the iPad Air doesn't touch the bottom support so it is a bit wobbly - only the lightning connector contacts the bottom of the iPad. So it charges, but if you're not careful, it can tip slightly to either side and not make a connection and the iPad will not be charging. I think the problem results from the change in shape of the bezel of the iPad Air from previous iPads - the discrepancy is only a couple of millimetres, but it makes a difference. Also difficult to line up the connector with the receptacle in the iPad. Works well with iPhone 5. …

Not an Apple

I don't use a cover so I don't need the functionality that allows to adjust the width of the dock for your particular cover but it is a cool feature. Giving it a 4 instead of a 5 star rating because placing the iPad on the stand requires a bit of precision, even a bit more difficult than the similar iphone dock that Belkin makes. Can't decide if it is a problem with the stand or the design of the tiny slot on the iphone and iPad since the newer lightning connection was introduced. Personally I prefer the apple products which are made for use without a cover and wish Apple would make one for iPads like they one they just introduced for the iPhones 5S and 5C. Just miss the days of being able to place my iPad on a dock with just one hand, like I could with the older 30 pin slot. …

Useable but not w/ iPad Air 2 Smart Case
Yeah, don't bother if you intend to charge an IPad Air 2 and you want to keep the Apple Smart Case on it. The hole in the Smart Ca Yeah, don't bother if you intend to charge an IPad Air 2 and you want to keep the Apple Smart Case on it. The hole in the Smart Case is not large enough to allow full penetration of the lightning connector into the Air 2 socket. That makes it worthless as a charger for a fully enclosed Air2. The Naked Air 2 works fine so if you use a smart cover, it will work. I am nervous putting my naked Ipad Air 2 on it, something about the relatively narrow base feels like it is going to break the lightning connector or get the Air 2 will be knocked to the floor. I don't want my $800 Ipad to hit the floor.
The unit itself is nicely made but you have to use a USB charger that came with your iPad or keep it attached to your computer USB port for charging. …

If it weren't for this, it would be great.
Belkin needs to just make it so that the actual connecting bit can either be risen up to accommodate cases just as it can be moved forwards or backwards for different thicknesses.
This is a problem with a lot of 3rd party charging devices it seems. Whereas the plain old apple ones are slimmer and can penetrate casing better to allow a connection to be made. …

Bought Belkin Dock for iPad Air
I've been using an Apple charging dock with my iPad 2, so when I got the iPad Air I still wanted a dock. The Belkin Express Dock w I've been using an Apple charging dock with my iPad 2, so when I got the iPad Air I still wanted a dock. The Belkin Express Dock works great, its heavier then the apple dock, the lightening connector moves back and forth, making it easier to pick up or dock your iPad Air. I use the alarm clock on my iPad and the Belkin dock holds my iPad firmly enough to manage a groggy swipe across the screen when I silence it. It's an excellent product and I'm very happy with it. …
