Not only has it made controlling lights simple and easy to do, but has improved the safety of our home by allowing us to schedule cycles when traveling or during winter months when we arrive well after dark to a well illuminated home. In addition, the ability to select light colors from a unlimited pallet, has made entertaining, working from home or just relaxing a sensory event and much more satisfying. We are glad to see the price point of additional lightbulbs come down so we can install these in more locations of our home.

When lights are at full brightness they make an annoying buzzing sound. I contacted Philips and was advised that this is normal. I like to read and find it very difficult to do this when the lights are at full brightness needed to read and then I have to listen to a loud buzzing sound. I am returning these and will wait till they are perfected

Adding bulbs to existing system was easy.
This is a flood, not a spot.
Price is too high and application software too strange for five stars.

  • 14 Hue bulbs installed, only 7 still work

I installed 14 Hue BR30 lights. It took several days of fussing around to get them all to show up in the Hue app. Eventually, ha I installed 14 Hue BR30 lights. It took several days of fussing around to get them all to show up in the Hue app. Eventually, half of them stop working and cannot be found by the bridge. Very sloppy implementation, terrible support, and Apple only gives you 14 days to return them. This product IS great fun when it works, but they are a hot mess to keep working. Verdict: not ready for prime time; buyer beware.

  • I have had 2 of the flood lights die on me, originals still work ok

    1.0 out of 5 stars

I purchased 3 Flood lights separately at the apple store, I already had the original starter pack and bulbs. In less than 6 month I purchased 3 Flood lights separately at the apple store, I already had the original starter pack and bulbs. In less than 6 months I have had 2 of these 3 bulbs failed on me. The light still work but I lose all connectivity to them. I move them around, reset my bridge, try everything but once I lose that initial control I cant get it back. It basically turns into a normal light bulb. The customer support with Phillips was great when they quickly sent payment for my first one that died on me...but less than a month the 2nd one died in the same fashion. I think I will ask for them to credit me for both bulbs, send them both back and just purchase the original Hue light bulbs which have never given me an issue in the year I have had them.

Not sure if its a design flaw but I just dont see how 2 of these would break in the same fashion.
