However, if you want to preserve the slimness of your mac, this is not for you. It adds a lot of thickness at every side and angle covered in the product photo views.
One thing I noticed instantly was the added weight to the laptop. The almost 1lb weight of this case makes my laptop feel so much heavier. That might not matter to some people, but I don't care for the extra weight.
Overall, its the best quality protector I have owned thus far. …

Sturdy and well built but has minor issues

It looks classy on the macbook as well. Fortunately, I haven't dropped it yet so don't know if it will hold well when I do. The installation is pretty easy and fast.
Besides these obvious plus points, I do have some complaints.
It does add about a pound to your MBP. So overall the MBP becomes really heavy.
On top of that, the feel of the material is slick and plastic like (which is not to say cheap) and only slightly rubber like, but not enough in my opinion. Combining this "slickness" and the fact how heavy it has become, it is almost impossible to hold the MBP in one hand (like, with your fingers when you put it in your bag or take it out).
One other thing I noticed is the design of the vents for the air. It is well positioned, but if you look carefully, you'll see the flaw. The vents for the MBP machine are directed horizontally outwards and the vents for this case are directed vertically downwards. This means that the air has to take a 90 degree turn en route to the fans. I suppose this will not be major problem but with this case, I would not put my MBP on a couch or my bed without a flat board, since it will completely block the vents. …

Tech21 Snap Case was a great choice for my MacBook Pro!
I had to go to a few Apple stores to find the one I wanted, I like to look at them in person so I know what I'm getting. I wanted I had to go to a few Apple stores to find the one I wanted, I like to look at them in person so I know what I'm getting. I wanted good protection for my new MacBook Pro 15". This was definitely better than the other cases I looked at. It feels really smooth, not like a hard plastic case like some of the others. It does not interfere with the anything on the Mac, or feel uncomfortable when using the mouse pad like some of the other cases have. Definitely worth it! …

Worth Every Penny!!!! A must have for travelers!!!

I thought it was expensive bu I purchased this case about two months ago when my original speck began to crack (without cause...). I thought it was expensive but decided to go with it after looking into the bump protection the company was claiming. I first noticed that the shell adds a good amount of weight to the laptop but I usually carry it in a cross body messenger bag so I don't really notice the difference.
The true test of this case came unexpectedly as I was walking down the hallway on my way to my desk at the beginning of the work day. The strap on my messenger bag broke at the base without warning. The bag, which is made of canvas and has no padding, crashed to the ground landing on tile with the corner of the bag and my laptop taking the full force of the fall. I'm 6'7", which means that the fall was from between 3'-4' up!!! My heart skipped a beat, a few beats to be honest, as I realized the destruction I could possibly find within the bag.
I picked up the bag and took out the computer. I didn't notice and obvious damage! I have seen MBP's after falls such as this and they always lead to dented in corners which forever misalign the lid closure. There is no visible damage on the computer and the lack of moving parts inside the machine have surely helped to reduce the damage to the overall machine. I can see where the tech21 technology came into play as the second layer of the shell is now somewhat compressed at the point of impact. The $100 price tag definitely saved me easily 3 times as much in repair costs!!!!
I can easily recommend this to anyone looking to get a Macbook, Air or Pro especially if you move around your macbook alot!!! …

Not a good choice for business professionals

The simple act of carrying it from a meeting back to my desk causes the case to look like i just finished off a bucket of KFC - not a very good look! I am returning the product. …

In all fairness
The case was not the cheapest of my purchases. Having previously owned a 13 inch mbp, i have had several cases that i tested out. The case was not the cheapest of my purchases. Having previously owned a 13 inch mbp, i have had several cases that i tested out. Which was the moshi iglaze, speck satin see thru, and some china rip off. Comparing to the previous two that i owned, Tech 21 has the most contrasting love hate impact on me (pun intended).
I've tried throwing this case around, bumping into doors, and to put it short, I haven't been fairly kind to the casing. but i haven't noticed a single crack or wear on it, its just unbelievable. My speck case cracked when i was removing it from my macbook for the regular cleaning, and my moshi cracked after bumping into a wall's corner. compared to the two this one has the best value for money, it may be double the price but it lasts way longer than the latter two.
Its either you like it or you don't. I like it, its not pretentious, its not quiet, and its definitely not your show off case. This case is for us rugged workers. We work everywhere, from coffee at the neighborhood cafes to the campings at a nearby escape. This case is meant for down to earth designers/ proffesionals that are constantly on an adventure with their lives. We still want to be able to go into a meeting with a shiny new macbook but be able to care less about it while working, anywhere. Case on, Life, Case off, Business.
The harm to the computer and why I hate it,
Okay, so here's where the hate part comes from, it harms your computer. "but wait! didn't you say a shiny new macbook after all that adventure?!" Its the border around the middle cut out, yes, that part will leave a stain like thing on your macbook. Its not easy to get rid of, but a few spritz of water and a wipe should do the trick. Don't expect it coming off with a dry cloth though.
It adds weight to the computer, sadly but true, protection comes with a price, and weight is one of them,
It came out of the box with a defect, I wanted to exchange it for a new one but didn't really have the time to go to an apple store.
Truth is, this case, for a hefty price tag is worth it. However, its for workers not showers. Just remember, this isn't beauty its the beast. …
