The reason being is that the bottom case does not even fully snap on! I could get 3 clips to work but the last clip just won't snap on!
I asked the Apple specialist to help me out and even she couldn't do it. We tried it on a macbook air on the floor and on that model, she only 2 of the front clips snapped on. We went through 3 other cases (1 the same color, 1 clear and 1 teal) from the same company before we finally gave up. I'm surprised apple is selling these in-store when they don't even work for the computer.
The one star is for the nice apple employee that helped me :) otherwise it would be none because the product just plainly doesn't work. …

We use this laptop a couple of times a month, so this is not something that is receiving heavy use. The Speck case has cracked and is falling apart. I cannot imagine how soon this case would have failed is this laptop was getting used daily! Very poor quality for a pricey case, I am very disappointed! …

Second time around I went with this satin case and I like the grippy feel. It snaps on easily and does what it's supposed to, nothing broke but then again; I do not plan to take my case off and on. I only wish they made a clear-satin case. …

After just a few months of gental use it started to crack along the edges. Pieces of it would break off and the raged edges would scratch my computer. From there it just got worse. I would NOT recommend this case. …

Very Poor Construction

The first thing is the number of cracks i I've only had this case about 2-3 months and have had numerous problems with it already. The first thing is the number of cracks in the case. over the course of this time period there have been numerous (and some being large) cracks in it around the corners and edges. Because of this, pieces of the case have been falling off, making it difficult for the case to stay on in certain areas. Another problem is how tight the case fits to the computer. I am afraid to take off the part covering the top of the laptop because every time I try to take it off, part of the case cracks and breaks. I feel that if I take it off it will break to a point of not being able to put it back on. Because of this, I am not able to clean the computer. I take VERY good care of my electronics and do not let them get damaged easily, so honestly there should be no reason for all of these cracks and broken pieces. I do use my computer on a daily basis since I'm in college but that's no reason for it to be falling apart after only 3 months. On top of that the case is very expensive, which is why I don't want to remove it just yet to try to get my moneys worth. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a case. …
