App controls the WeMo Switch and WeMo Motion.
The iPhone home remote. Control stuff in your home – from anywhere.
Belkin’s new WeMo system is a family of simple, ingenious products that use your iPhone and your home Wi-Fi® network to connect you to the things and people you love. WeMo is your home at your fingertips.
WeMo can control just about anything.
With WeMo you can turn on a light from another room, or turn it off from across town. You can put your home on a schedule—living room lights go on in the evening, kids’ TV goes off at bedtime. You can check to make sure you turned the iron off, after you’ve already left. WeMo Switch is the iPhone home remote.
The Complete WeMo System.
The WeMo App runs on your iPhone and controls any electronic device you plug into a WeMo Switch—if you can plug it in, you can turn it on or off with WeMo. And WeMo Motion lets you control the devices when motion is detected. Have the floor lamp go on when you enter the living room, and turn off when you leave.
WeMo Switch and WeMo Motion are available at major retailers.
The WeMo family of products is great at automating repetitive tasks, and at allowing you to control your household in ways you’d never thought possible.
The beauty of WeMo is it’s completely modular. You can control as much or as little of your home as you like. Control one light, one room, or the whole house. There’s no limit to what WeMo can do. If you can think of it, you can probably do it with WeMo. WeMo is your home at your fingertips.

Excellent & 1st Class Quality...

They are very straight forward to install and work with the existing double and triple socket faceplates. But it is not recommend for 2 or 3 way light switching. The instructions and online video’s via the Belkin website is easy to follow, as well as using your own common sense. I have been running these switches for about a month via my iPhone 4S, using the WeMo application. I configured it, so that the lighting is automated. This is ideal for the short daylight of winter and long nights of darkness here in Alberta. Excellent product, well done Belkin. …

Effective and elegant.... Highly recommended
I purchased a total of three, and I've been extremely happy. Read the requirements carefully because there are exceptions, but it I purchased a total of three, and I've been extremely happy. Read the requirements carefully because there are exceptions, but it is exceptionally well designed. You can use it with IFTTT and helpful for those time when you're away from your home (light switches). You can have it set up to a plug too, that is how its set up for my lamp in my living room.
DIY install, fairly straight forward! …

It took some doing but so far, I love it!

Setting up both switches with the app was a little tricky. The first switch set up without a problem but the other required a restart of my phone and wireless network. Even then, the 2nd Wemo network didn't immediately show up. Eventually, after a few tries, I got it working.
Ironically, the hardest part about the installation was the fact that one of my bulbs had blown (I think I have a short). Therefore, I mistakenly thought that the switch was not working for quite some time. :)
I love this product and may buy a third! …

Functions Well, But Could Fit Better Behind a Group Switch Plate
Easy to install, except I installed it with a bank of switches just inside my front door and the WEMO switch did not fit flush und Easy to install, except I installed it with a bank of switches just inside my front door and the WEMO switch did not fit flush under the multi-switch plate used for the bank of switches. There was only a minor bend in the plate with the WEMO switch on the end position (small enough to live with), but if I wanted it in the middle position of the set of switches, it would have created a very noticeable bulge in the middle of the switch plate.
It was easy to connect to my wi-fi network, easy to program using the iPhone app. Remote controlling the switch through the app works well. Updates to firmware haven't caused any problems. There is one limitation in the auto on/off programming (rules). When using sunset or sunrise times for a rule, it just takes the sunset/sunrise time that day and uses that for all subsequent days instead of using a different sunrise/sunset time each day as the days get longer or shorter. The sunset/sunrise times can be refreshed but you have to manually refresh the rule in the app for this to happen. Also I think a timer function would be great where you could use the app to tell it to turn on the switch now and then turn off after a set amount of time. …

Works great when FW/SW are in sync...
I've been using WEMO devices for some time now. I have five in use and they are all working well. They were working poorly about I've been using WEMO devices for some time now. I have five in use and they are all working well. They were working poorly about 6 months back, could not see them most of the time even when on my home network, but at least the programmed rules kept working fine. That was either resolved by a FW update or SW update. Working well now and I love the them. I have two outside and they stay attached to my network, no problem. …

Bought a AirPort Extreme 5th generation and spent hour Have been using this for a while with a Belkin router and has worked great. Bought a AirPort Extreme 5th generation and spent hours but could not connect it to the router. Searched internet and found a lot of people with same problem.
