This year I decided to give the 600i a go seeing as how they use a new driver but also a much better cable than the 450i.

The 600i feels very solid yet lightweight. The aluminum remote and right angle connector gives the unit a nice sophisticated look and the cable feels quite durable and not tangle prone like the 450i was. This new cable allows the buds to be worn over the ear or straight in very easily and can be easily managed. The remote is well built and nothing feels loose during use.

The sound quality is very nice, especially those who like to have their music sound lively and with plenty of bass kick without sacrificing much in the mids and treble. Out of the box it can sound a bit heavy handed in the bass department and a bit muffled top end but breaking them in helped solve that issue. Audio purists will have to look elsewhere as these are far from neutral.

Very, very hard to pick the right one. Let's clarify some things. If you are simply wanting to listen to music and have the $, get the Bowers and Wilkins C5. If you are wanting the best workout headset, get the Bose iPhone units, they are outstanding for biking and treadmill workouts. If you want a set for great quality sound and be an all purpose unit to use everyday, the RHA MA600i is it. Period. Very good sound, very solid built, great warranty (three years), great packaging, great carrying case. If you can ONLY afford ONE headset, get this one.

They are not the very comfortable, they fall out easily, and the worst part is the highs are too high. they hurt my ears. I would not recommend these if you are looking for something thats worth the money, and sounds good. Thanks for reading.

  • The Sound Of The '80s...At 21st Century Prices

The build quality seemed excellent, so I was hoping the sound quality would be similarly excellent.

    Wrong.

There's a goodly The build quality seemed excellent, so I was hoping the sound quality would be similarly excellent.

    Wrong.

There's a goodly amount of bass - although not enough deep bass - and plenty of extreme, shrill midrange. Unfortunately there's insufficient treble extension. The end result is a really unpleasant listen, that makes everything sound like a late '80s Bananarama record, all slappy drums with no low end and an ear-splitting midrange. In spite of the hot high-end the treble seems curiously muted, which is a losing combination - shrill yet muffled.

I would have returned them but managed to somehow lose them for a couple of months. When I finally found them again it was too late.

Crazily enough, based on strong reviews I purchased RHA's better-reviewed MA750i earbuds to replace them, and was pleasantly surprised to discover they have none of the 600i's shortcomings. They offer strong, deep bass performance, a balanced midrange and reasonable treble extension, although at fairly reduced levels. Still, they're an extremely pleasant listen and might be the best earbuds you can buy in this price class. I've had them for months and they've held up well so far, fingers crossed.
