I love the feel of the case, which isn't slick, it has a good grip to it. I love that the side, or as some refer to the bumper really protects all around the phone. Plus the fact that the case is a gelly type case it makes it easy to take on and off and clean easily. This case also doesn't add any bulk to the looks and weight which is also a plus. …

Screen smashed first time phone dropped
I've never had a case on an iPhone before, and figured i'd been pushing my luck since I frequently drop my phone (I wish I didn't, I've never had a case on an iPhone before, and figured i'd been pushing my luck since I frequently drop my phone (I wish I didn't, but it happens. . .). I like the look of the Tech21 case and enjoy that it doesn't make the phone bulky. However, the first time I dropped my phone in the case the screen shattered. The phone fell almost perfectly flat face down onto the floor, and it seems, looking at the case, that it should have been protected (the case does not include a screen cover, however the outer edge is raised so that if you lay your phone face down the edge of the case touches the ground rather than the phone). In a perfect world I'd never drop my phone, but it happens and thus I purchased this case to protect my treasured iPhone 5. In my experience, this case did not help at all and frankly I'm thinking about going back to no case when I get the screen fixed. …

It feels nice to hold yet it's not slippery (like my old Speck candy shell which I constantly dropped). Even though its a soft shell case, it gives great protection for my phone and I have already dropped it once without a single scratch. It doesn't add any bulk and looks great on my white phone. Highly recommended! …

Its my understanding the answer to whether there are portal covers on this case is "NO". Despite Its my understanding the answer to whether there are portal covers on this case is "NO". Despite what other responders say about the" right way" being "blowing out" dust, I have learned the hard way, you need a case that is a "YES" to port covers. Ports are deep, cannot be "blown out" and need to be coverable or they get filled with dust and other minescule debris, worse yet with moisture.. I had a Commuter Case on my 4S, and when I upgraded to the 5, I was surprised to see how much minescule "stuff" was collected around the ringer toggle. All the other ports were covered by the case and they were completely clean. If people want to retain a high resale value for their phones, those People really NEED to have port covers to keep junk out of the ports. Case makers might recommend port covers are unnecessary but this is only because their products do not address it and have otherwise failed to accomplish it.
