I've had no problems with it, and I thought that everything was perfect...until about 5 days ago I decided to take off the cover to see if there was any dust. I was expecting to find dust, NOT mold! These Speck cases are not compatible with the aluminum on Mac's. There are permanent markings and scribbled looking engravings from....I don't even know what, but it was definitely not from me. I looks like some type of acid reaction? There were also white spots all over (top and bottom), from the mold. I did some research and found that another person had the same problem as I have using the Speck Case. I thought that paying the $50 and putting this case on my computer would keep it from getting permanent markings and damage, but oh boy was I wrong! Now I have markings all over, and I'm super upset. Apple should not sell a product that is not compatible with their own. I would recommend getting just a traditional bag or pouch with a zip so your Mac can breathe, instead of buying this case. It's way cheaper and safer for your laptop. Who knows, maybe I am the only one experiencing this...but I know for sure that I'm not using my Speck case again!

Had to go to Apple Store to buy this case since the cover (from InCase) I had on my other MacBook was not available online. Long Had to go to Apple Store to buy this case since the cover (from InCase) I had on my other MacBook was not available online. Long story short - Brand new case, doesn't fit. The top cover snaps on just fine, but the bottom rear doesn't snap in place (both left and right sides). It seems that the mold is off. Should've read these reviews first. I'm also kind of upset with Apple store for carrying subpar product like this.

    Great firm control
However the bottom portion gave out completely
It all started with the snap on portions on the bottom left and right, follow by the corners
The top cover is still working and has protected me from TSA's scratches.
I would not recommend it this product as its expensive and does not last longer than 18 months.

I have only purchased one case (satin) when I first purchased my macbook pro 5 years ago. I am somewhat in the middle with my fee I have only purchased one case (satin) when I first purchased my macbook pro 5 years ago. I am somewhat in the middle with my feelings in regards to my purchase of the speck case. Its relatively inexpensive and does have a sense of style and sleekness. Some of the grips did snap a year and half into having the case, however the other grips compensated well for the ones that broke off so I did not feel the need to purchase a new one. However, I brought my laptop everywhere and did not take the most optimal care of my laptop and both the case and laptop are going pretty strong. A downside to owning this product is the molding inside of the case! I do not know how to remove the stains, but I have heard there are ways to remove it.
