Overview
Shift Premium Bluetooth Audio. Bluetooth rewritten.
Integrating a custom implementation of the native Bluetooth SBC codec, which JayBird calls Shift, BlueBuds X headphones deliver a level of purity and sound that rivals and challenges the best in wired headphones. A great feature of Shift is that it's pair and play, so nothing special is required on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, just standard Bluetooth.
PureSound white noise filtering
All in-ear headphones (wired or wireless) create white noise, which over time results in listener fatigue. JayBird's on-board filtering system, called PureSound, filters out and eliminates the white noise to give you a clean audio experience. This is especially helpful for long workouts when you've turned up the volume to motivate yourself.
Playtime to up to eight hours
Though they're among the smallest Bluetooth buds available, BlueBuds X pack an impressive eight hours of playtime—double the duration that was previously possible from such a small design. And for convenience, it uses a standard micro-USB connector for charging and includes a battery status icon on screen for iPhone users.
Patented secure fit
Patented sports ear cushions hug into the top, back, and lower surface areas of your ear—all essential for the most secure fit during sports and fitness activities.
X-Fit for over- or under-ear fit options
JayBird's patent pending X-Fit design lets you use the headphones either in the traditional under-ear wearing style for music and calls or over-ear—completely free of any cord on your neck—so it feels like you don't have any headphones on.
Signal Plus
Designed for running and outdoor sports, Signal Plus maintains a clear constant signal to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch no matter where it is.
Jenna Voice prompts
Don't worry if you haven't used Bluetooth before, BlueBuds X offers voice prompts for easy use.
Sweat-proof
The BlueBuds X headphones come with a lifetime warranty against sweat and are the official training headphones of USA Triathlon.

JayBird Bluetooth Headphones
These headphones are incredible! I bought them to replace a pair of Motorola Bluetooth headphones that I bought on Amazon. I'm a n extremely heavy sweater and the Motorola's stopped working after only two weeks. I've had the JayBirds for almost a year and a half and they're still going strong!
First, they almost never fall out of your ear. I do a lot of Crossfit and the only time they start to come loose is when I'm jumping rope for an extended period of time. The "waffles" really help hold them in place.
Next, they stand up to excessive sweat extremely well. I'm in the Army and was deployed to the Middle East for the last eight months, through the summer months when the average temperature was over 120 degrees. And through that heat and my sweat, these headphones still work with zero issues.
They also work okay across a gym. I can set my iPhone down next to a rack and walk around the gym pretty freely without losing quality or the connection.
The only reason that I gave them four stars and not five is because there isn't a battery indicator on them. So you may end up losing music in the middle of your workout due to the battery dying. But honestly, that's more my problem than the headphones - I could have charged them every three or four days regardless of whether or not they needed to be charged.
I would definitely recommend these to someone looking for quality Bluetooth headphones. …- Written by Tim M from Hope Mills

Very well done
I must own 30 sets of headphones. For running i've tried everything but i HATE the cord tangle that goes with all of them. i tri ed a few bluetooth versions but they were not stable or didn't stay in the ear or gave pretty poor sound. These guys seemed to have nailed it!
Works well. Fits well (make sure you experiment to get the tips and the wings just right for you). It makes a big difference in the amount of sound that goes in (especially during activity).
Pleasantly surprised with them. Well done Jaybird! They took an extra year to come out but overall they seem well worth it. …- Written by Stuart K from New York

Best BlueTooth Headphone....ever!
I had 2 S9s and 2 S10HDs both died due to sweat. I HATE, HATE Wired headphone because I primarily use my headphone during workout sessions. This BlueBuds X is by far has the best sound, comfort & battery life. You have to try different ear piece to find what fits for you (takes me a day or two). The sound quality (deep base) rivals any wired headset and there is no 'wearing' fatigue like with other headphones. Most other headphones, I have to max out the volume, you won't have to with this one unless you want to go deaf. As an Electronic Engineer, I am quite impressed with how small the battery is for the 8 hrs of play time. The weight to battery life ratio is quite amazing.
I have iPhone 4S with iOS 6.0.1 and I have to DISABLE WIFI so that the music doesn't cutout for a second every so often. This is iOS 6 WiFi, BlueTooth problem and not the headphone's (have similar problem with Wireless Beats also). Google iOS 6 Bluetooth (or Wifi) problems for yourself and see. Come on! Apple you have got to fix this problem or this can turn to the 'iMap' fiasco I can see it now 'iPhone, iPad are great if you don't want to use BlueTooth features). Wireless Beats & BlueBuds work great on Android phones with out any problem so I am certain it's not the headphones. …- Written by Hung N from Tallahassee

Very nearly perfect
These wireless headphones are a fantastic product. Somehow they manage to get great battery life and provide quality, balanced aud io in a package only marginally larger than a standard wired in-ear headphone. Microphone performance is good enough to use Siri accurately, meaning you can leverage the best technology has to offer for an effortlessly futuristic experience -- and you don't have to worry about your phone calls being misunderstood.
Jaybird claims to have developed their own implementation of the SBC codec to improve audio quality and performance over standard BT headsets. I believe it. This is one of many features that show the passion Jaybird's engineers have for wireless sport headphones. Good attention to detail.
I've had these headphones for a week now and I am impressed. If you're looking for a nice pair of bluetooth headphones and prefer the clarity of noise-isolating in-ear headphones you'd be foolish to pass these over.
Note: I originally purchased a pair from a major B&M retailer. That pair had an audible radio buzz and less than stellar signal reception (Jaybird's live support told me to return them as defective). The pair I ordered from Apple appears to have a slightly revised housing and I've noticed "Jenna" now gives a low battery alert (in contrast to the earlier revision's beeping). They're the same price elsewhere, so don't be daft. …- Written by Jay L

Not what everyone says
I was looking to improve comfort of my runs with these headphones. Unfortunately these are not worth the price. While running ear piece would loosen up and have to continue to push back into inner ears. Under style pulls against neck feeling every step taken, while over the ear style feels heavy and not in place. Sound is great when in quiet room. Once outdoors running, sound is not up to wired volume. Build quality is AWESOME. Voice Jenna is great and battery indicator on iPhone 5 status bar is a plus. If improve ear mount like Bose Sport SIE2i and sound volume outdoors, I may come back to these, until then sticking with wired Bose SIE2i for running... …

Love this!
Have been using wired earphones during my workouts but the wires get in the way. Tried several bluetooth ones but this one is the best for me. Stays in place, great sound, also, able to put up with my strenuous workouts without a problem. …

Answer
Hi Shaun
Bluetooth Headphones like these use an A2DP protocol to send sound to your device. Blue tooth 4.0 is used to connect devices such as heart monitors and pedometers. They don't interfere with each other so you'll be able to use both types at once without a problem. …- Answered by Russ P from Chippendale
