With that said, you wo First of all I love the style of this case, it was exactly what I was looking for when I bought my new 5.. With that said, you would expect the case to protect at least a little on the hot pink "rubber" parts, it doesn't. I recently dropped my phone with a less than 1' fall. It did hit a metal bar directly on the pink edge and I didn't see any cracks on the screen so I thought I was good- sadly I just removed the case to clean it and found a huge chip in the bezel. Obviously I'm not a psychic so I don't know if the case was better than having nothing but I find it hard to believe the case really avoided any damage based on the huge chip I now have. Plus side the case completely hides the chip. Downside the case gets really dirty pretty quickly and washing doesn't remove the dirt :( …

Limited protection -- much better options available
This was the first case I bought for my iPhone 5. Needless to say, I no longer use it.
Let me start by saying that I really li This was the first case I bought for my iPhone 5. Needless to say, I no longer use it.
Let me start by saying that I really like the way this case shows off the anodized aluminum and glass back of the phone -- it's the reason why I bought it. The sides are also rubberized for better grip. But that's where my like for it ends.
There is absolutely no protection on the top and bottom for the front chamfered edge of the phone, which (as I unfortunately discovered) is prone to picking up lots of nicks and dings. For me, a case should actually *protect* the phone inside it. Any case that doesn't adequately protect the phone from minor wear and tear from day-to-day normal use is, in my opinion, worthless.
If you're anything like me and want to ensure that the case you put on your phone actually *protects* your phone while still showing off its stylish look, there are much better cases out there. …
