Fell off the roof of my car

Shortly after merging onto the freeway I heard a crash as it bounced along my the roof, and when I looked in my rearview I witnessed my beloved Mac Pro 13" smashing into the shoulder and sliding for about 30' after a 50mph fall. Thankfully it went to the right and not into traffic.
I exited, went around, and pulled over then ran to what I expected to be the carcass of a once beautiful machine. To my complete shock it was still in one piece, showing only minor damage. I got back in the car, held the power button... and it turned on! This case saved it's life. There is no scratching to speak of, the only damage is a dent in the corner of the screen where it landed and a little scratch on the corner of the body. The glass is not cracked, and it runs just fine. I will replace the screen just because the dent annoys me and reminds me of my own stupidity. The case is utterly mangled, so I promptly bought a new one when I got home (I also called and told them my story).
Do not listen to ANYONE that says this product does not provide adequate protection. …

BEST 50 bucks EVER
All the complaints about clips breaking off and Macs being more scratched than without a case seem pretty unwarranted to me. If yo All the complaints about clips breaking off and Macs being more scratched than without a case seem pretty unwarranted to me. If you put a cell phone in a case and never remove it to clean underneath, you'll have micro-scratches on your phone. The same holds true for this case and your Mac. It's nothing more than a giant snap-on phone case. It isn't intended to keep your Mac flawless, it's intended to prevent major scratches compared to never keeping your Mac in a case to begin with. We've all seen what other people's Macs look like when they are never cased and the difference is night and day.
What's prompting me to write this review today? I'm about to replace my cover after FOUR YEARS of use. Other than hardly noticeable micro-scratches, my 2010 Macbook Pro looks almost new. All the clips on the top cover are still intact and only because recently the two back clips on the bottom finally broke (that happens when you tote a piece of plastic around for FOUR YEARS) am I replacing with the exact same product.
If you're not willing to realistically compare a $50 investment to protect a $1200-$2000 purchase, you probably shouldn't be looking at a hard, snug, snap-on case to begin with. A nice, soft carry bag is probably the best thing for you. …

Yes. I just picked one up and it snapped right on. The lid portion fits a lot more snug than the bot Yes. I just picked one up and it snapped right on. The lid portion fits a lot more snug than the bottom. I haven't seen one on the older model but I may return it because its bugging me to have a slight creaking sound when I pick it up with one hand (when open) and I feel it slightly moving/detaching. It might be a good idea to keep it for the long term protection but the slight weight increase is noticeable when the Pros are so light now days. All that said, I can't imagine another brand would be better at this issue, it seems to be a function of this type of cover. …
