Very unhappy
I had Dragon Dictate 11 on my PC and it worked good but then I got a iMac so I bought Dragon Dictate for Mac 3 it doesn't navigat e good at all horrible the dictate part works ok sometimes when I try to train my email address it puts a space in it sometimes other times instead of a @ it types at on my PC it would have a couple of different options for commands this one only has one for each command And the commands are all different than the one for PC this program is definitely not worth $200 and it definitely does not rate any stars I am a quadriplegic and I need a dictating program. Trying to use Dragon to dictate this review I have had numerous mistakes I am so disappointed in this program if you do not absolutely need a dictating program do not buy this. I am constantly having to use my nose to backspace and to retype and dragons support line has not been able to help me at all their excuses is that the Safari interface limits what Dragon can do all I got to say is this is a horrible program …

Pay Attention!!!
Myself, I read the instructions, and followed them, and the program works great for me...
So, for all those, that have written, bad reviews, I say this... "Get a life", take the time, and read the instructions, and "FOLLOW" them, and you will "NOT" have any problems with the program.

OK Dictation Software
Am new to mac. Had Dragon Naturally Speaking 9.0 on my HP. While Dragon Dictate 3.0 does not have the functionality and accuracy o f DNS 9.0, it is still light-years ahead of me typing entire documents from scratch. For me, it is easily worth the price because I still save countless hours by dictating, not typing. No matter what dictation software you use, you are going to have to proofread the document. A few more corrections is not a big deal to me. I'm hoping over time, they'll get it to the proficiency and functionality of DNS. In the meantime, I need DD 3.0. …

Do not buy this if you use Word or Outlook
I have been using Dragon for the past 12 years on my PC without a problem. I switched to an iMac which which I love however Drag on does not work well within Microsoft Word or Outlook. When dictating the cursor moves around randomly jumbling your text, Inserting unwanted text, inserting punctuation in the wrong places and you wind up spending just as much time fixing it as you do dictating. Software support is no help as they give the same solutions of remove and reinstall but the same problems keep occurring. Several blog comments also describe the problem however there is no solution yet. Perhaps it will be a bug fix in the future but as of right now I would not recommend this product as it is very expensive and can be quite frustrating. If you don't use Word or Outlook, I would recommended this product. …

how long can the dictation be ?
- Asked by Donald S from Columbus

Answer
There is no limit. Dragon works differently from speech recognition built into Mac OS. The Mac versi on is time limited. Dragon converts your speech to text 'on the fly' and will work for as long as you talk. …

Can Dragon Dictate 3.0 be used with a MacPro running Snow Leopard 10.8??
- Asked by Larry D from Boulder
- Jan 10, 2013
Answer
NO! Snow Leopard is not 10.8-it is 10.6.8. I just bought the Dragon Dictate 3.0 for my 92 year old Mother for Christmas and have not installed it yet. She has Snow Leopard and I need to upgrade her MAC OS to either Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8) for this version to work.
I have been doing a lot of researching and think the new I-Macs with the Mountain Lion Operating System installed and the other great improvements to the hardware and software would rationalize buying her a new Mac and having all of the additional features for elderly people with disabilities and then installing the new Dragon Dictate that will also be a companion APP with her new I-pad for recording. …- Answered by Lance P from Miami
