The Nike+ FuelBand is an amazing device. It helps me track my activities especially during cross training. and if I dont meet my g oal on one day I have to do extra running for the next week so i have an incentive to get me to reach my goal. A good motivator.
This is really nothing more than a motivator. But for me it worked. It allows you to set goals based on calories, steps taken, dis tance, and activity. I started out having a hard time hitting 2500, my original goal, I then moved to 3500. Which has involved some effort but I'm hitting the goal, and now my goal is at 4000.
It's making me become more active to achieve the goals I set. It's cool to be able to see what times of the day I was the most active and what days of the month I'm most active.
I'm shocked at how accurate it is and it helps me base my diet around my activity and calorie intake for the day. It's funny looking back at your day and knowing exactly what you were doing based on the activity on the graph. The accuracy of this thing can definitely work negatively. I have tried other products but this is the best. It motivates me to get off the couch & get moving. I love how it syncs to my iPh one and neat notifications when you reach a milestone. Looks great. I have the white ice & the LED display shows up really well. I would highly recommend this product. …

Not accurate
I am a mother of three who moves their hands and arms a lot. However I am not very active. Well my fuel says I did three times mor e steps than I really did. Just sitting on the floor doing sign language with my son caused my steps to increase by 227 when in reality I didn't take a single step. It was also very easy to reach my activity goal of 5000 when again in reality I didn't do anything but play on the floor with my kids, watch movies, took a nap and did some dishes. I think the most vigerous thing I have done was walk to the fridge to fill up my kid's cup and dishes. Oh wait I went and checked the mail. It is a cool watch though! …

great motivation
great product! wear it everyday and love to see it light up when I reach my goal. Only issue I have with it is that it does not ke ep track of fitness in activities such as spin classes, which I do realize would be difficult to track. Just a bummer that after 45-60 minutes of activity, very little of it is measured. Other than that, fabulous product, great motivator for lazy days …

Does the Nike Fuelband measure steps or activity? Meaning, does it measure if you do other types of activity besides steps...like yoga or housework?

If you move your arms - or specially the arm with the band on - then yes, your effort is measured. I t's not magical, it uses movement sensors. So walking will earn you points, but cycling won't - unless you wave your arms wildly when cycling :-) …
