Ratings & Reviews

  • Great product!

    5.0 out of 5 stars

The Paradigm Millenia CT System sounds great!!! This system won product of the year for Sound & Vision. I was excited to see it available on Apple.com. Compares to other systems that are significantly more expensive. You will not be disappointed.

  • Great sound in oh so little time!

    5.0 out of 5 stars

    Hi,
I normally don't send out reviews or opinions on anything, but I was so surprised by how easy this
Millenia CT rig went to gether, I wanted to let you know about it.

I have had a bunch of stereo systems, going back to the 70's. every time, it would take several days to get it all hooked up...before I could actually enjoy a minute of enjoyment for what I just paid all that money for. Not this time! It took minutes to hook up what little I needed to, and I have already been digging on it for hours. Sounds WAAAY better than one I replaced, and it is so good I am thinking of getting a "smarter phone" so I can make it all wire-less!

  • Setup in under 5 minutes - night and day better than TV speakers

    5.0 out of 5 stars

Received this little system for my birthday. I set it up in less than five minutes. The sound is sensational compared to the LED TV speakers we were using. Now I enjoy listening to music through my Apple TV.

The remote that comes with the system is pretty lousy. However, I just reprogrammed my Harmony One and that solved that problem. Really, all manufacturer included remotes are lousy so why should Paradigm be any different?

Overall a great system for anyone with limited space. My girlfriend even loves the way the speakers look!

  • Nice speakers but should be for this price - needs better connectivity

    3.0 out of 5 stars

If you are going to use this strictly with your Apple TV then the connectivity couldn't be easier. However, I wanted nice speaker s for the bedroom. Didn't want a big setup with a amplifier etc.
When connecting to a Apple TV this item is great, HDMI from Apple TV to the LCD TV and Optical audio to the Millenia and basically ready to go.
When I switch to cable or blue ray or xbox I can't get the audio to follow. The optical cable is optical in - my LCD TV does not have optical out. So, I had to go buy another switcher device to ger all my connections to work.
I wouldn't think my statements would be fair - but do the price of this item - they could have made it better. The sound is great but should for this price. My KEF speakers in the living room are much nicer - but they do say there is a break in period.

Also note, the optical connection sounds much better so you may want to consider that. The bass is good but not the same as an amplifier system with a 8 inch sub.

  • Marvelously clear sounding speakers with great bass!

    5.0 out of 5 stars

The best 2.1 speakers I've ever owned. I previously owned the BoseC3s and 5s and they don't hold a candle to these speakers.

I'm a musician of over 20 years and have supersensitive ears and I have to say that these speakers sound crisp and clear with no static or distortion. If you like to crank up the volume, these speakers can pack a bit of a punch. The subwoofer also provides deep, rich bass for all the low-end lovers out there. Here are some of the tunes and genres I tested them out too:

    Will.i.am - Scream and Shout
Intro cuts like glass with these speakers and you can even hear the crisp, doctored highs in Britney's voice

    Little Dragon - Test
This tune put the subwoofer to the test and it sounds so good that you feel as if your body is an extension of the subwoofer

Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind
Alicia's highs come out like a soft, gentle wind

Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong - Dream a Little Dream
Ella's voice has always been pitch perfect but listening to her voice through these speakers will send chills down your spine. The Millenia CTs glorify her voice. Satchmo's voice also makes great use of the CTs midrange.

The only thing I don't care for is the flimsy remote and that there are no contols on the control box. Aside from that, these speakers are great.

  • Good unit, but not incredibly impressed

    3.0 out of 5 stars

For a $700 unit I was expecting this unit to be a lot better than the B&W MM-1. The bass response is great on this, but when compa red to the sound quality of the B&W MM-1 I much prefer the MM-1s.

Where these speakers shine is when you turn them even louder; the subwoofer really packs some great bass and the quality gets even better with the more detail you can hear. However, for the small 10x15ft room I have these speakers in, I really didn't need such a whopping amount of volume or bass. Compared side by side to the MM-1s I'd go as far to say that these speakers sound muffled in quality.

I ended up sticking with the B&W MM-1s, I believed they sounded better for my room than the Paradigms, for both my desktop PC and for use with my TV. I was slightly disappointed in these speakers because I had high expectations considering the great reviews that seem to be floating around the web as well as the higher price point.

If you like listening to your music/movies/tv very loud with a lot of bass, this set could be great for you. The bass on the Millenia CT is the major point had me really wanting to keep these speakers. However, if you like superior quality sound with excellent detail I heavily suggest giving the MM-1s a shot, yes even for your TV.
