    Simple and sturdy case

    I bought this case for my 15 inch MBP with retina display. The fit is not snug, but acceptable - the laptop has about a 1/2 inch to move on all sides. For travel there is a secure middle velco strap that works to keep the laptop from sliding. You can definitely use the laptop in the case, but not if you need to use any of the ports. It has kept my MBP dust-free and scratch-free for a few months now with no problems. My only complaints are that the zippers could be a little smoother. They are sturdy but not as smooth as the traditional incase cases. Also I wish there was one specifically made for the retina display model so it could be as small as possible.     Useless for Retina models

    Had the previous edition of this case for my 15" Macbook Pro and figured it would be the same, snug fit with the 15" MBP Retina -- which it super isn't. This leaves so much jostle room with my MBP Retina inside as to be practically useless -- I might as well just throw this $2300 computer into my bookbag, since this provides no added bump protection whatsoever.     Tough protection, solid looks; can't access ports

    This is a very good looking, rugged case that also has excellent water protection. The zipper can be a little hard to close/open sometimes because of the water seal, but it's not cumbersome and makes sense. The interior material seems to be soft enough that it won't scratch the macbook, while at the same time offers decent airflow and shouldn't overheat the macbook. The included tie-down strap inside is also nice and should keep your macbook from falling out should you have accidentally left it unzipped or something along those lines.

    Really, the only downside is that the macbook sits low inside, which means if you have any type of thunderbolt cable or a usb drive that's bigger than say the Logitech Unifying Receiver (this fits inside the case just fine) it means you either can't use it while this macbook is in the case or that the macbook will sit at an angle, resting on whatever you have plugged in to it. If that's not a problem for you, though, then this is a very nice and versatile case.     …More
