Great case, not ideal fit for retina
I love Thule and I do love this case. It's quite protective and looks great too. It's just a little too big for the 13" retina. Bu I love Thule and I do love this case. Great fit , actions and workmanship,
ALL the less than stellar ratings posted hold NO MERIT to this quality macbook case.
For those that wanted, expected, and found the Thule Gauntlet NOT to be an implosion-proof case with a fit tolerance of +/- .005 are perhaps still looking for the impossible enclosure ,Good Luck .

He states "Wish the straps would allow for you to open the screen wider instead of stopping at a 90 degree angle". I cringe to think how many sales this cost Thule. I mean who doesn't tilt their screen slightly past the 90 degree mark?
Not only do the ELASTIC straps stretch to allow you to tilt the screen the ENTIRE way back, like as far as the MacBook will allow without snapping off, but if you continue to push back on the half of the case behind the screen it will go ALL THE WAY FLAT TO YOUR DESK! Let go and the elastic straps pull it back up against the rear of your screen. The point of the straps is to keep the half behind the screen always flush against it, providing protection while your using your MacBook while in the case, as I am doing now. There should be more pictures showing the case open with a MacBook inside. Thule's site has a video, though it is of the gen 1 model.
After looking at a few $40.00 basic sleeves in the Apple Store for my newly acquired CL MacBook Pro, I was thrilled today to come upon this case. It's worth 50 bucks, and the semi-hard material screams trucker tough. My non retina 13 has maybe a 1/4" play either way if you zip it up and shake it quickly like you're erasing an Etch A Sketch, but no play if you hold it with both hands and shake it like one would a baby. But why would I do that, except to write a review? This is a well made, durable, and fully functional case, the likes of which I have not come across before. I could do without the rather large white logo, but I guess it will look good if I strap it to the roof of my car... …
