Works if you know it's limits.

Also, battery to battery transfer of energy works best when the charging battery is lowest and gets worse as the charging battery fills up. So at most you're getting 50% charge out of an iPad and 4 charges on an iPhone. However that assumes 100% transfer which you can't get. If you want this to work best wait till your device is about 20% battery and plug it in for an hour. That should get you to about 80% + and you can do it about 7 times. If you try to go from dead to full you might get about 3 maybe 3.5 times. If you know the capacities and have realistic expectations this works great. …

Extremely handy external battery while on-the-go
A superb external battery for the iPhone and iPad. Charges at 2.1 A, so it's as fast as an iPad wall charger. The casing is metall A superb external battery for the iPhone and iPad. Charges at 2.1 A, so it's as fast as an iPad wall charger. The casing is metallic and rubber and looks expensive and sleek. It can charge two devices at the same time, and has a few lights to show the remaining charge. It's a bit bulky but fits easily into a bike saddle bag or something similar. The capacity is 6000 mAh (the highest sold by Mophie) so it should be able to charge an iPhone 3 or 4 times, and that's consistent with my experience. However, the phone needs to be in sleep mode during charging or else it'll eat up the battery capacity a lot quicker. Does not support pass-through mode. Also offered in a ruggedized waterproof version from Mophie directly, although this one tolerates splash damage. …

Unfortunately, it's not functional...currently on 4 hours for an iPad2 - Mophie's about to run out of JUICE and iPad's only at 60%. Bought for a Euro trip and was really hoping for the best - But not to be....it's going back today...
Not sure what the 2nd port is for when it can't even get one done??! …

Goodbye battery cases!
I am so glad with this design, primarily because I wasted so much money on buying Mophie battery packs for previous generation iPh I am so glad with this design, primarily because I wasted so much money on buying Mophie battery packs for previous generation iPhones, only to see them go obselete months later and in the end giving them away to the winning bidder buying my iPhone on eBay as a bonus.
Finally - a standard model that doesn't go obselete (unless no more USB) and is capable of dual charges, meaning, charging both my iPhone and iPad (or wife's iPhone) simultaneously!
If you're in the market, DON'T buy the $20 cheaper one. It's DEFINITELY worth the extra $20 to get the model which can charge two devices at the same time rather than only one.
I deducted 1 star for battery lifespan. Why? Well, because it will get you near a full charge, but not a full charge. …

Great for iPhone, NOT for iPad
Awesome for iPhone. It recharged my 10% battery back up to 100% in about 2 hours and still has half of its power left.
Terribl Awesome for iPhone. It recharged my 10% battery back up to 100% in about 2 hours and still has half of its power left.
Terrible for iPad. It took the charge from 10% and got up to only 32% before dying out.
Both charges were done separately, so I'm sure if I charged them both at the same time, my iPhone wouldn't have gotten a full charge. Tablets require power the Mophie can't provide. …

it comes with a cable that you can plug into the same plug that an iPhone/iPad or similar device has it comes with a cable that you can plug into the same plug that an iPhone/iPad or similar device has. just as with almost all electronic devices these days from cell phones to tablets, etc, most plug 'heads' have a USB port so that you can remove the cable and insert any viable plug.
*NO plug is provided with the device. you must use your own plug from your phone or tablet, etc. This really isn't too big of a deal considering you already have one, or else you wouldn't need the portable battery pack :) an extra is nice though so that you can power 2 devices simultaneously
also, most Mophie portable battery pack devices use a cable that has a Micro-USB head on one end, and a regular USB head on the other... the micro USB connects to the device, the USB connects to a plug
charge is rather slow, but that's only because your charging 6000mAh! (mAh standing for a unit of measure for certain types of batteries, more below). for example, one brand new iPhone5 battery is 1440mAh, and you are charging something that is over 4 times that... so its basically like charging an iPhone5 four+ times lol..
however, the great thing about the Mophie chargers is that since the amperage output is higher than what you would have if you were connected to a regular electrical outlet, the device you are re-charging charges at a faster rate.
An ampere-hour or amp-hour (symbol Ah, AHr, A·h, A h) is a unit of electric charge, with sub-units milliampere-hour (mAh) and milliampere second (mAs). One ampere-hour is equal to 3600 coulombs (ampere-seconds), the electric charge transferred by a steady current of one ampere for one second. The ampere-hour is frequently used in measurements of electrochemical systems such as electroplating and electrical batteries. The commonly seen milliampere-hour (mAh or mA·h) is one-thousandth of an ampere-hour (3.6 coulombs). …

Yes. You can do anything you want with you ipad or any device with a usb charging cable. I just play Yes. You can do anything you want with you ipad or any device with a usb charging cable. I just played a movie while charging to be sure. The only thing you cant do, is you can NOT charge the mophie power pack AND charge your phone / tablet at the same time. So, if you plug the mophie charging cable into an outlet, then ithe mophie battery will charge, but it will not charge your phones/tablets until you unplug the mophie from the wall outlet. …
