Great headphones
I love the look and sound of the studio's. They sound great, are able to block out noises, and look really nice. They also are ver y comfortable. One set of batteries gets me about 1 month of listening for about 3 hours a day. The only complaint is they are bulky. …

Nothing But Market Hype
For this holiday season I decided to buy myself a new pair of headphones. I wanted ones around the $300 range that reproduce the m usic as good as if you are sitting in a one-audience concert, and looked stylish. My friend has had the Beats Studios since last Christmas so I asked him if I could borrow them for a few days. He said sure, And then quickly said "I'm not going to be missing them anyways." I was a little confused by his statement.
So for the next few days I sat listening to them, with just about every genre varying the past 50 years. They sounded great compared to the Apple Earbuds that I had always used. Then I found out about the Sennheiser Momentums($300) and the ATH-M50($150) through multiple forums. I decided to buy those two and see how they compared. Whichever one was the best, I would keep/buy.
So after 24 hours of "burn-in" on each headphone I decided to test them out with ALAC quality music. Instantly, I heard a considerable difference in the Momentums and M50 vs the Beats. I patiently listened to each for several more hours and found the Beats Sudio to be very muffled with too much bass. And when I mean muffled, I mean VERY muffled compared to the others. Even the M50 had much more clear vocals and instruments. You could even close your eyes and pinpoint where each individual instrument was being played!
Since I had $300 I decided to go with the Sennheiser Momentums with its English Brown, Sewn in leather and polished steel. I'm really glad I didn't buy the Beats Studio. …- Written by Sean P from Palos Verdes Estates

what do you get as an extra to the solo hd?

Answer
Aside from active noise canceling, they are much bigger than the solo... The solo will stand on your ear, making it uncomfortable after a while. The studio rest around your ear.. I used them on a 10 hour flight no problem.. Richer bass and high... They come with a hard shell case, which is better for luggage storage. I recommend... …
