The LaCie RuggedKey flash drive features tough rubber construction that helps it withstand accidental drops from heights far above what you'd encounter on your way to the office. That means ultimate protection for your key—and your data.
Withstands everyday disasters
Heat and cold resistance protect you in the most extreme of climates. Plus the RuggedKey is IP-54 certified for resistance to damage from dust and water projection.
Full-throttle transfer speeds
The USB 3.0 interface delivers speeds up to 150MB/s for blazing-fast file transfers that are dramatically faster than USB 2.0. But since the interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0, there's never any worry about connectivity.
Ultra-secure AES 256-bit encryption protects your data from the inside—complementing the RuggedKey's tough exterior. It lets you easily create a password-protected area on the key to securely store all of your confidential information.
Secure cloud storage
LaCie makes it easy to integrate Wuala secure cloud storage into your RuggedKey, so it's a snap to store and share your files, photos or videos. You get a year of one-to-one storage ratio with Wuala (for example, a 16GB RuggedKey comes with 16GB of Wuala Secure Cloud Storage). That means you can back up your key's entire contents or double your storage capacity. Even access your files on the go with Wuala Mobile.
- Withstands drops from as far up as 328 feet/100 meters
- Heat- and cold-resistant

The durability of this USB is what made it well worth the price; with protection from anything you could expect to be thrown at it (and probably more) this USB was built to last! I've never had to worry about losing my files because of water damage when I bike through the rain- heck with the ruggedness of this thing I don't worry about losing my files at all.
Easily the best USB I've ever had!
Do recommend!! …

Stopped working after 2 weeks

The one-star reviews accurately It was only after my drive stopped working within two weeks of purchase that I read the reviews. The one-star reviews accurately reflect my experience. I had written data on the rugged drive. I then deleted the source. Walked over to the computer that I was going to copy it to, and then the drive was never recognized again. I tried about 3 different computers. It really did stop working.
If the drive actually works, only use it as a shuttle drive to immediately copy the data to another location. Don't delete the source data until you are sure that the data has been copied to another location.
The drive really is fast when it works.
I was able to exchange the drive for a similar model at the Apple store. I'm going to see how many weeks of usage I can get out of this one. …
