Most awesome earphones I have owned!
I am an individual who struggles with comfort in earphones, and I enjoy listening to meditation tapes as I fall asleep. I had a ch ance to review these for Amazon when they first came out, and these are now the only ones I will use!
I have slept in them as long as six hours (on my side) with total comfort.
But how do they sound? Like sitting in a perfect seat at an orchestra! These are so sensitive, I can tell the difference between cheap CDs I imported into iTunes on my laptop, and high quality files.
I particularly enjoy the shape of the control on the cord, the indent makes it easy and intuitive to use, you always can tell which button you are using, whether simply adjusting the sound, or answering the phone.
I have had no problems with the other party hearing me clearly when I use them.
Best of all, the wonderful cord never tangles.
I don't normally "gush" over products, but these are worth talking about. …- Written by Roberta K from Sedalia

Decent value and sound- cord to noisy for working out.
I found those headphones to have good sound quality for the price with great mid tones and decent treble and bass (not overpowerin g).
The build quality is nice too.
However, the fabric covered tangle resistant cord that comes with these transfers friction/impact sound to your ears very efficiently. If you tap on the cord with your finger tip it sounds like a bass drum. If your slide your finger along the cord it sounds like a snare drum. If you run with the cord moving about your apparel it will generate muted bass and snare drum sounds constantly. They have no clip to secure the cord that might help in this regard, but not enough I think.
I have observed cord generated sound in other headphones, but never as severe as with these ones. I need to take them back as they just won't do for me using them to workout. Others using them for more static listening might totally appreciate them. …- Written by BRENT S from Seattle

Wonderful Quality
I've finally found headphones that fit (and actually stay in) my ears! A lot of headphones that I've used in the past become unco mfortable after wearing them for only a few minutes, but that definitely doesn't happen with these. One of the things that I like most about this product is the fabric cast around the cord/wire; I'm not always completely careful with my headphones and so they usually break quite quickly, but the protective coat around the wire prevents the headphone from breaking or stretching.
This is the first pair of in-ear noise insulating headphones that I've ever used and I wasn't entirely convinced that the in-ear headphones would be as effective as the larger sound cancelling headphones, but these definitely are. They also are very convenient to use out in public because even if you are playing loud-ish music, not much of the noise escapes and you won't bother anyone around you! …- Written by Claire H

Noisy cord
Bought these to exercise with, bad idea. When the cables to the ear pieces bang around while jogging, you can hear it in your ear and it's so loud and annoying, you forget there is music playing. Totally and completely worthless and I'll be returning them to the Apple Store ASAP! …

Problems with microphone echoing
The sound performance of these headphones was great, but I also wanted the functionality of the microphone for phone calls - I con duct much of my business on the go. A number of times I was told that the caller on the other end of the conversation could hear an echo. I replaced the original set that I purchased and was still told the same thing.
I'm not quite sure why this is happening but I have to return these headphones, the echo issue cannot be tolerated. Unfortunate, the sound quality is pretty good through the earphones. …- Written by Oba H from Vancouver

Regarding the noisy cords...
I also found the "rustling" cords very annoying. I think I got around this problem by switching the rubber tips (i.e., the parts that stick in your ear) to smaller ones. They're less tight in my ear and this seems to reduce the noise. Note that the earphones come with a set of ~12 rubber tips and they're not all the same size.
Having gotten around this problem, the sound is really good and deep, and the sound insulation is quite good. …- Written by Gideon A from New York
