Ratings & Reviews

  • Awesome

    5.0 out of 5 stars

This device is in a class of its own. From the materials used to the brilliant sound. I previously had a Bose SoundDock and the B& O blows it out the water. Super crisp vocals and every instrument playing in the band can be heard amazingly well. This is a prime example of you get what you pay for. Very happy with my purchase.

  • Excellent dock with a few huge weaks

    2.0 out of 5 stars

At first - sound's quality and design are excellent, like BeoSound 8 (previously I owned it).

But further to ONE BIG problem (* ) of BeoSound 8 it has next additional weaknesses:

    2. Poor WiFi module.
Together with poor WiFi module inside my Time Capsule I have weak WiFi signal strength in next room and unstable playing music via AirPlay. If I connect BeoPlay by Ethernet cable, everything is fine.

    3. Docking connector doesn't compatible / fit to ordinary iPhone bumpers.
Now it is too short, like in any other docking stations! It was the biggest advantage of BeoSound 8 after sound's quality and design. Now I should remove bumper to dock my iPhone for charging or listening to music.

    4. Lightning docking connector doesn't present yet.

*1. Single but VERY BIG problem of BeoSound 8 (and BeoPlay A8 too as any other docking stations) is bug in iOS. iOS devices under iOS 5 don't keep different sound volumes for itself and external sounds systems. So, if you set up volume for incoming rings to maximum (as usual), forget about it, dock you iPhone, go to sleep and somebody call you, it becomes a nightmare for you and your neighbors.

  • Good product but...

    4.0 out of 5 stars

Bought the 1st version just one month before they pushed out the second one with airplay, nothing I could do. It's an amazing spea ker but I just hated being stranded by cables.
