Good leather, poor elastic straps
This case looks beautiful, and turns the MacBook Air into an expensive looking folio. The leather is attractive and feels pleasant to the touch. It is easy to attach - the lower half of the laptop slides into a leather pocket which extends just past the trackpad. It's a secure fit - good if you intend to keep the computer in the case, although it would not be suitable if you frequently remove the laptop from the case. A nice touch is the clasp. It fastens with a popper, but the computer is in use, it can be folded back to attach magnetically to the back of the case. The main downside is the narrow elastic straps which hold the screen to the rear flap of the folio. These look cheap, and don’t work well to hold the flap in place (if I tilt the screen back, they tend to fall off). Some kind of leather corner, or a wider piece of elastic might have worked better. The folio keeps in the heat, and seems to make the computer slightly warmer than it would otherwise be, although this doesn’t seem to cause any problems. …

Awesome Case!
I bought one of those "speck" stick on cases at the store. It broke within 6 months. I treat my computer as if its a new born baby . So, I wouldn't even say it was normal wear and tear. So I had to purchase replacement case. I have to say the extra 40 bucks or so for this case is worth every penny! Fits like a glove, looks very professional, and is very comfortable when you are typing. I highly recommend this as your first case so you don't waste your money on the "speck's" in the store.... …

Does the case keep the sleek/compactness of the air model, no bulkiness added? Also, can the case be engraved with initials?
- Asked by Ashlyn W from Pullman
- Jan 24, 2013
Answer
Case adds about 1/2inch (1/4" on top, 1/4" on bottom). There was no option to engrave when I purch ased it.
Nice leather. Bottom fits really well. Top can fall off at times, but not too often.
I do like it better than the plastic Speck case that I originally purchased for the Air. …- Answered by Donna T from Thousand Oaks

Love the case, however, yes laptop has been overheating since using it. Never had the overheat prob lem when using my old plastic case. Unfortunately, the plastic cracked easily. No easy solution.
