The canvas is actually a dull purple color
I ordered this online and chose it over the black one because the brown leather trim added "character" to the bag. The canvas mate rial looks grayish online, but in person it is actually a dull purple color under both florescent and natural light. Overall, the bag is of good quality and well-crafted, although I only used it for a week before exchanging it for a different color, so I can't attest to its durability. The straps are very sturdy and the interior is well-designed. My 15-inch Macbook Pro fits snuggly inside even with a neoprene sleeve on, but there is not much room left to fit even a 1-inch binder. A good bag, but not great, and a little overpriced for something made in China. …

Too Bad...
I just returned my bag. The pockets are great to keep you organized. The problem I have with it is that the color looks purple in real life and the iPad pocket lining tore within two weeks. As far as the design goes I love it. As far as the color and quality... needs improvement. …

I bought one of these shortly after I bought an 11" MacBook Air (2011) because I was tired of using the same backpack case I'd had since college.
It has held up for over one year very well! It looks stylish and people often comment on how nice it is. The materials are high quality and assembled well.
