Featherweight powerhouse
Weighing just 1.4 pounds/0.64 kilograms, the drive is a portable powerhouse. It fits in the palm of your hand, features its own cooling system, and can either be connected to a display or a MacBook Pro. While presenting their work to a client, photographers can browse smoothly through photos in their digital libraries while experiencing zero lag time. Away from the studio, videographers can dramatically reduce the time to publish a project.
Aluminum reliability and security
Enclosed in LaCie's classic d2 casing designed by Neil Poulton, the drive's resilient aluminum armor protects your data inside whether it's in the field or in transit. The unique heat sink design provides 60% more surface area, which draws heat away from the internal components, keeping it cool and safe at all times. A front power button allows you to turn off the Little Big Disk without breaking a daisy chain, always with energy conservation in mind.

Answer
The Thunderbolt version has no ports other than Thunderbolt, therefore can only be used by Thunderbolt capable computers. Thats the down side. The up side is that Thunderbolt is a significantly faster interface than all the others put together. But just because the interface is extremely fast, it doesn't mean that all your transfers are going to fly. Extremely fast transfers require very high speed drives at either end to see real advantages. If you are going to get the Quadra, and you are concerned about speed, get the 2TB, it will be faster than the 1TB. …More
