Another fantastic B&W Product
I've been a committed audio hobbyist for the past few years and have sampled many different types of on-ear, over-ear, and in-ear I've been a committed audio hobbyist for the past few years and have sampled many different types of on-ear, over-ear, and in-ear headphones, and these are some of the best buds that I've ever used. The C5's sound spectrum is complete across all levels; the accurate, punchy bass, smooth mids, and the open treble work together to provide for a wonderful listening experience. The passive audio-isolation manages to mask nearly all of the ambient noise around you. The fit of the buds might take a little getting used to with the cord that keeps the buds in the ear, but the adjustment curve is short and worth it; the C5's stay put better than any other bud that I've used. …

I listen to all types of music ranging from classical Wolfgang, to Ne-Yo, to B.I.G., as well as foreign artists. I need Headphones that are not orientated towards one genre or another. Being that these headphones are so well balanced, i am able to hear the frictional tug of each string with the bow of the violin. Feel the bass rumbling through my entire body as i play sweat.
These are by far also the most comfortable headphones i have in my arsenal. (Even better than the Klipsch patented oval shaped ones, and those are wonderful) I have worn these to sleep like they were regular form-fitting earplugs.
I also run everywhere i go. I have a very active life style so i need headphones that wont fall out every time i decide to run across the street to catch a light or a bus. With the secure loop, i am able to do just that. And may i add, it is also very comfortable.
(May i add you can headbang with these?!) …

The secure loop is a very welcome innovation for keeping I've owned the similar Bose in-ear headphones, and these blow them away. The secure loop is a very welcome innovation for keeping them actually *in* your ear. Sound quality is wonderful throughout the full range from low to highs. They do take a few hours listening to really start to sing, but that's normal for audio products. …

Terrible durability... 6 exchange in 2 years...

However, as many as pointed out, terrible durability. Exhanged my model 6 times (thanks from the included extended warranty). Bought these headphones in 2012, and just got my last replacement. The last pair lasted for 3 weeks (ok, I must admit, I tried to run with it and lost sound on the right side - same problem for the 6 replacement).
Hope B&W will correct this in future version. …

Great sound quality, terrible fit and durability
For the price, you'd better expect amazing sound quality from these headphones and for that they deliver. The sound is noticeably For the price, you'd better expect amazing sound quality from these headphones and for that they deliver. The sound is noticeably modified by B&W engineers to give a balanced and clear frequency. You can easily hear the sound is 'warmer' and is more bass heavy. For most genres of music I really like the sound, and the bass is clear and never mushy.
Unfortunately the loop design of the headphones is extremely uncomfortable and is very hard to get a tight fit (which is crucial for in-ear designs). Don't even think of running with these. My pair broke after 6 months, which seems to be a common issue for many users.
TL;DR - Excellent sound, clear and deep bass, very uncomfortable fit, very easy to break. Would not recommend. …

Beware!... don't waste your money with it!
Today just failed my third C5 replacement earphones in less than six months. I bought my first ones in the Apple Store, but after Today just failed my third C5 replacement earphones in less than six months. I bought my first ones in the Apple Store, but after some time started to loose sound on one stereo channel. Ok, I went to Apple store, and very kindly replaced me with a new one. But after some weeks it started to fail, exactly as the other did, after one hour or so listening music, the left or right channel looses slowly volume, until it is completely lost.
This time, I observed, that if you leave the earphones alone for some hours, they works again correctly... until they fails again after an hour or so. Well, I went again to Apple Store, and I convinced the guy at the shop about my tragedy thanks to this forum. I got my "new" C5 earphones... but this time with the certainly that it will fail again. And that's what happened this morning, barely five days after the replacement, the right earphone loosed volume and now is almost imperceptible.
Ok, so now, again to waste my time at Apple store and begging for new ones... this time I'm afraid that I will not convince the guy at the shop. …

If you dont, they will sound tinny, shallow and no bass. When you get a good seal, they sound amazing. You can 'hear' where ech instrument is located in the room. The cable is a bit stiff and would be nicer if more flexible, but these are the best sounding earbuds I've had (and I've tried many). Use the apple 14 day return policy and try them out. …
