    SL150 vs Solos?

    • Written by

I was shopping for headphones and I noticed the two big names Soul by Ludacris SL 150s and Solos by Monster (I was looking to spend around $200). I assume they are the competitor of each each other due to their title and the price. Experiencing them both hands on tells a different story. The SL150s blows the Solos away. How can they even be the same price? First, compare the design of the two. SL150s has a strong overhead band with big earphones. The Solos are slim and fragile looking. Putting these two next to each other makes the Solos look like the headphones you get on the airplane. Ok, fine, design is not everything. I tried both of these one, and as expected, Soul wins. Not only did the SL150s sounds great, it covers nicely over your entire ear. The solos were just awkward feeling. Listening through both of them, I can tell that they have similar quality in sounds but with the SL150s having better sound isolation, SL150s wins again. If you are looking for a pair of nice headphones and have a price range in mind, go compare for yourself. You would be shocked to see how the SL150s and the Solos are even the same price. So go look for yourself, but I guarantee you, Soul SL150s is the way to go at that price range. More

    Amazing sound, great comfort

    • Written by from Madison

After having a great experience with their in-ear headphones (SL99), I went ahead and got these SL150s as well. I had high expectations for these and they did not disappoint. Starting with the design, it is nothing you have seen. Most headphones out there all look the same, but Soul have reinvented the way headphones should look. Most headphones have the whole ear piece that moves around to fit different users, but they tend to be fragile and break easily. Soul has one strong band across, with only the inner cushion that swivels to fit your ear. It is truly a unique design. It looks sharp and stylish (I got the white ones). The sound quality matches it's great design. It has amazing vocal isolation as well as a strong but manageable bass. The headphones covers nicely over your ears to create a natural sound isolation. I've worn these around busy streets, buses, and trains and have shown no signs of interference with the outside noise. These are a pair of "Must-haves" and you will not be disappointed! More

Perfect Blend of Sound, Comfort, and Design.

    • Written by

What do you look for in headphones? For me, sound, comfort, and design. The SL150s gave me just that. These headphones design shows that it is durable and they spent time making sure it is a good quality. It folds up nicely into a nice protective case. It has a nice, thick strong band. The cord is apple-friendly with a volume and play control. It's stylish and the design looks more unique than other headphones on the market. How do they feel on your head? amazing! They have the typical length adjustments to fit different size heads. This is the area that I find most fragile in headphones but the hinges on the Souls are strong and sturdy. I wore them for a long period of time but the cushion fits nicely over your ears with the right amount of pressure to keep sound out, and your music in. Which leads to the sound quality. Purely amazing. I tested them on all different settings, vocals, high bass, high tremble, etc. They all shows the range that the SL150s are able to bring to your ears. I am definitely very satisfied with these and will be looking forward to more Soul products. More

    Love these headphones

    • Written by from New York

Compared to Beats these are less bass heavy which I prefer. Sound is very clear and quality is very sturdy. No need for noise cancelation since once any audio is pumped through these it does a good job at isolating outside noise. I always recommend getting an equalizer App such as "Hear" for your Mac since stock audio settings are very flat. These headphones do need a few weeks to break in, audio improves a ton once broken in and they are a bit tight and heavy so maybe not for someone who has headphones on 9 hours a day. More

    sl150 vs. beats studio

    • Written by from Tucson

The beats studios are $100 more but so worth it. The soul sl150 are good but the studios have much better sound. the studio beats have noise canclation which makes it better because if sombody next to you is making a lot of noise it is really easy to not hear them. the studios also fold up alot better then the sl150. so if you are thinking of buying the sl150s think about the beats studios too, they are a lot better.
