    Excellent Wireless Speaker Solution

    I will review this based upon what it's designed to be: a speaker for the room you're in, although you can still hear it well in nearby rooms.

    Complaints I've read about the sound quality of the non-Air version are pretty subjective: some expect deeper bass, greater output, etc. because they're used to larger speakers with more power. I played a variety of musical genres before writing this at absolute full blast. I did not detect distortion resulting from any weakness of the speaker, and the bass and treble were well-balanced. Sound from this speaker easily and loudly enough "fills" the room. However, you won't rattle the windows; for that, use your home or car audio system!

    If you follow the Quick Setup Guide, you will have no problems connecting this speaker to your wireless network for the first time. However, place it close to your router, not to your Mac or iPod as it suggests or you won't get past Step 3. After it's set up, you can unplug it and move it to another room, and it will re-connect to your network no problem once you select this speaker in iTunes.

    Don't have a wireless network? Then put your iPod/iPhone/iPad on the dock, even with a cover or case on. The supplied bracket will hold it well in place, even in landscape position. However, I’ve only tried the iPod/iPhone bracket.

    Other complaints relate to the remote control. I've found you need to be pretty square to the dock side of the speaker; if you're too far off center, the remote won't work even if you're within a couple of feet.

    I know I could write a lot more since it's the first review, but here are a few other things I really like. 1) Portability. 2) It runs on AC power: no need to replace a defective rechargeable battery down the road. 3) Versatility: it also has USB, audio in, and video out jacks.     I noticed that most gave this 5-stars, where one guy below gave it 1-star. Makes one wonder if he works for a competitor writing that? So anyways...

    I have this and like this a lot. AirPlay works perfectly from my iPhone or my iTunes. I stream my iTunes from about 35-feet away and through two walls, works flawlessly. I also had my iPhone outside with me and that still worked. I was like WOW!

    The remote is small and simple and works from all the way across the room too. My kitchen is about 25 feet wide and it works across that distance. But it, like with any remote, you have to make sure there is nothing in the way blocking line of sight.

    I love this product for what it is. My recommendation to JBL might be to include a battery on the next one so it isn't always reliant on being plugged in? I do like to take my stuff out by the pool or to the beach.     …More

    Love this!

    I use Airport Express to stream music all over my house and love it. But I do have one room which is my dead spot becauseeee...no receiver or speakers in there. I got this, plopped it down, connected it, hooked up to Wi-Fi and it works great! I know that with any type of wireless connectivity the distance you are streaming is a biggie, and while I'm not super close I'm also not far away either.

    Perfect Kitchen Speaker/Charger speaker for a mom on the run...

    I returned the Bose as the phone did not connect properly when the case was on and I was tired of taking the case off 10 times a day. So they suggested this unit and it is perfect for me. It is a big up tick from the Bose unit. I can have my music playing while i have my phone with me and running around the house up and down stairs etc. It charges the phone when docked it is the perfect kitchen accessory /mom on the run accessory. AND the ipad can hook up to it also... perfect set up.
    I had it up and running listening to my Pandora radio within 10 minutes... Love it!! Thank you to the very helpful Apple crew in Oakbrook as I was so disappointed the Bose did not work out.     …More
