Sound ok, airplay issues
After using the Live for a full month I returned it. I very much liked the design of the Live, and the mid range and high end is r eally quite good even though you must listen to it reflected off walls due to the design. The bass is only so-so for music with any serious bass. Of course classical, Sinatra, etc. sound great. Having tried various positions vis-a-vis the wall as recommended, with accompanying app settings, the idea of stereo separation with this design (as one would suspect) is unsuccessful, although one can get the sense of the room being filled with sound, depending on finding the right location. The software app works well and gives a large variety of choices with which to customize the "sound" of the audio. The real problem is the constant drop outs from AirPlay - not short ones, but often permanent, effectively negating the ability to listen in a relaxed manner to anything. Libratone blames Apple and AirPlay. I don't think that's the whole story. After testing, the Live had many, many more drops (often permanent drops needing various reboots) than my AudioEngine system on the same Airplay network, which dropped as well, but only very occassionally, and never permanently. So all-in-all beautiful design, but performance not good enough for the price. …

Great Sound, but...
I was excited about this speaker and it has fantastic, rich sound. However, Airplay is completely unreliable over Libratone. The m usic drops out every few minutes, and resumes after a few seconds. Sometimes the link is lost altogether.
I have fantastic wireless coverage around the house, and have never had problems streaming Netflix movies to my TV over WiFi. Music is a much less bandwidth intensive application, and yet the Libratone speaker can't stay connected. To troubleshoot I even tried to stream music from Pandora using my old iPhone docking station over the iPhone WiFi connection. Pandora streams flawlessly over WiFi in the exact location where Libratone fails to function.
I even tried a wired connection to my iPhone through the 3.5mm connector. Predictably, this is a reliable connection, but I found that to switch between Airplay and a wired connection I need to reboot the speaker.
I am seriously considering returning this unit. What a shame. …- Written by Ronen V from Menlo Park

Great speaker system
When I first hooked the Libratone Live up using my home wi-fi I also experienced some signal drop out. I now have my iPad configur ed as a personal hot spot and play my music direct from the iPad. With this configuration the Libratone Live connects quickly every time and sits there and will play for hours without any issues. I really like the sound quality as well as the portability. I bought a Pelican case and took the Libratone Live on vacation. …

Looks and sounds great!
PROS
-Spectacular fit and finish
-Great sound (compared to other AirPlay speaker systems)
-Easy set up
CONS
-Relatively he avy (may limit placement)
-Cannot use special characters for WiFi password. (! are OK)
If you've ever setup a non-Apple wireless router before, then setup will be a breeze. If not, just follow the simple included instructions. Will not work with WiFi passwords which have #,$,% etc. Frustrating that this wasn't mentioned anywhere in the manuals (a quick web search led me to their support page).
After setup, it has performed flawlessly with my computer and various iOS devices. Sounds great, except maybe to serious audiophiles.
Very happy with purchase. Simplified previous setup, which was a pair of speakers connected to an old AirPort Express. Would buy again if I was looking for AirPlay enabled speakers. …- Written by Cael G from Elk Grove

Good sound, bad connectivity.
The sound quality is very good. The form factor is good and fit my space perfectly. The big downside is the wireless connectivity. I am constantly having to restart the unit to get it to show up. It also slips into some weird sleep mode that makes it invisible on the network. They are charging far too much money for such marginal AirPlay support. I would sure appreciate a firmware update to bring this thing up to the standards that such a high price would imply. …
