Returning this item
I ordered this for my Macbook Pro. It worked for a few minutes, then died completely. Very frustrating experience, along with ha ving to try to find a UPS outlet to return it. That's okay if you live in a major centre. It's more complicated (too complicated) when you are not. Apple needs to take a lesson from other cross border companies on returning an item. I'll have to pay about 25% of the cost of this item just to return it. Not worth it. Buy it locally. …

Can't use wall charger
I bought this to plug it into the wall and then conveniently charge six devices for my family in one place. However, the wall conv erter doesn't put out enough power to charge a new iPhone 5 or iPod, or the new smaller pin adapter for the iPhone and iPod won't let enough energy through. I say this last point since an older 30-pin iPad of mine charged just fine, even with a Jambox and a Galaxy phone also plugged in at the same time.
Net, if you want to plug this into your computer it will probably work fine since you won't be using the wall adapter. Also, it looks great and is really slim/space saving. However, if you want to plug it into the wall and charge a relatively new apple product, according to my experience and the guy I worked with at the Apple store where I bought it...choose something else. …- Written by Chris R from Reno

Do I need new connecting USB cables for my devices?
- Asked by Bruce C from Williamston
- Feb 4, 2013
Answer
Good question, Bruce! Thankfully, you would not need new cables for a USB 2.0 Hub.
USB Technolog y is backwards-compatible, so an ancient USB 1.0 cable would plug into the USB 2.0 port on the hub. However, your connection would be limited to the speeds that you're used to. If you bought new cables to match the new hub, however, you would have access to the far greater speeds of USB 2.0. …- Answered by Cliff L from Warren

can i use the belkin 7-Port Ultra-Slim USB 2.0 Metal Desktop Hub with a usb power adapter?
- Asked by James H from West Seneca
- Apr 10, 2012
Answer
This product will not charge an iPad. It says so right on the tin. It doesn't draw nearly enough pow er to do that. I have not used this product - It may charge an iPhone, but not as quickly as the Apple charger. It may not be able to provide that much power to more than one port at a time.
You're best off looking for products designed to charge devices, and not usb hubs. USB power adapters often send more power over USB than is officially allowed by the USB standard. …- Answered by Ben D from San Francisco

can I use USB hub with Mac Air?
- Asked by Mary M from Aventura
- Jun 23, 2012
Best Answer
Yes you can use the usb hub with any computer pc or mac that has a usb port. This is a USB 2.0 port and it regulates speed to 2.0 even if you have a usb 3.0 port it works. If you have a usb port 1.0 it might have issues. Mac Book Air doesn't have a usb 1.0 port so you don't have to worry. …
