    Wonderful scale

I generally don't bother to write reviews of products but when i saw this on the Apple store I decided to spend the time because Withings deserves it. I've had this scale for a year and a half and love it. It even feels like an Apple product. Thanks to this scale, I have a history of my weight going back 450+ days now, which I could never have maintained when I was tracking my weight manually (in a spreadsheet and later on an iPhone app). Their iPhone and iPad apps are really good too and always improving.

I was worried that it would be unreliable and not always send my readings to the web site or fail to connect to our WiFi network and require a reboot or something, but it has not failed once and I weigh myself every single day. My wife and I both use it and it automatically detects us as different people (not entirely sure how it does this) and updates her online readings too. By the time I weigh myself and pick up my iPhone or iPad a couple minutes later, my readings are already there, so it's quick and reliable.

Last year, almost a year after I first got it, I did have a problem where it just stopped measuring fat percentage. I contacted customer support and they had me ship it back and they shipped me a replacement, no questions asked. It's worked great since then.

I'm glad we bought this scale and I'm happy with the company and how well it supports its customers. I'm getting their blood pressure monitor as soon as it's available in the US.

    I love it!

Very easy to set up. The scale sends my updated weight to my account; it also recognizes who is being weighed (just the two of us). The weight shows up on a graph in my Withings app (iPhone). It is a great tool to track my progress! More

Got it today... this product rocks!

This scale is super awesome. Worked great out of the box. Easy to setup online and on my iPhone and iPad. Loved how the WiFi was easily configured. I step on my scale, and the result goes to my devices automatically. The product is outrageously perfect!

However, I wish that the Apple Store had the option to order the white scale, because I like the sleek look of white which would complement my other Apple Products. Not so much of a big deal.

One negative is that the packaging was poor, the box was open and the product box inside was torn by someone who tried to figure out what it was.

My first ever review of any product!

    Hello everyone,

I never review products but felt this would b a good one to start with because of all the 1-5 star mixed reviews.

I have had the scale for a week so my opinion is based off of this time period.

The instructions in the package are limited however it basically is directing you straight to the website. Set up was fairly simple considering an internet connection is involved.

The scale read weight faily consistant. I only notice a .1-.3 weight difference when weighing myself a few times in a row. Very good when wanting to look at trends over time.

Info gets to my iphone in about 10 seconds and is easy to visually see info.

My wife has a user set up for herself, all that info goes to her account/mobile and the scale hasnt had any confusion.

I do not think its fair for people to give a poor review when they didnt even set it up or could not figure the thing out. It takes about as much tech. savvy as lets say syncing an ipod to itunes.

Overall a god product and i think it will certainly suite my needs.

    Hope this helps!

    Not bad?

The instructions are dissapointing. Withings needs a wake-up call. Have a sheet for those that don't like to read with big pictures and large green check marks along with cautionary red X's, paired with a real instruction manual. I am a very Geeky type and still found myself flustered by the lack of direction in the instructions and on their website.

In spite of the instructions I got the scale working by reading the online FAQ's and Google reviews of the product. I finally got it to to show something in the display, linked up with my WiFi and installed the carpet feet. However, the scale kept confusing my weigh-ins with a housemate that weighs 7 pounds more than me and was unable to get an accurate weight measurement on carpet.

Overall, it's not a bad scale, once you put it on a hard surface and keep track of who weighs in and when to claim the weigh in on the iphone app. However, I think it suffers from poor direction by the manufacturer. The concept is fantastic. The execution is amateurish, based upon the user having to make sure to check the weight measurement to make sure it went to the right user and an apparent inability to use it on carpet even with the adapters. I give it an ehhhh?

    Poor experience

I am returning this to the Apple store. During initial set-up, I mis-estimated my weight, and the scale did not associate my weighings with me. Due to the poor documentation, it took some experimentation to fix this. The web site is ugly and hard to use, but everything worked acceptably for a few days. Now the web site is very, very slow, the iPhone app doesn't show the same information as the web site, and my latest weight from the scale isn't showing up on either. Poor set-up, poor documentation, poor user experience- it's impossible to justify the time spent fiddling with this, let alone the money. More
