Use your iPhone or iPod touch to make the most of your bicycling.

Offering a large, color touch screen and detailed dashboard graphics the iBike Dash Cycling Computer gives you the instant information you want to enjoy your rides, challenge yourself a little more, and share your ride exploits with friends or teammates.

Case and mount

The iDash Phone Booth provides a convenient and safe way to hold the iPhone or iPod touch during a ride. Its water-resistant, shock absorbing case also protects the sophisticated iDash electronics that capture your cycling information, including speed, distance, and time.

Outstanding accuracy

The iDash uses a wireless ANT+ speed sensor to measure precisely your speed and distance information. And, if you already own an ANT+ cadence, HR, or power sensor, the iDash CC will display that information too.

Maps and more*

The large, colorful, richly detailed touch screen is easy to read, even in bright sunlight. The iDash and its free iBike app report speed, time, distance, temperature, and more. Your iPhone adds detailed maps, too. Customize the screens to see just the information you want, anyway you want to see it. Listen to your iPod while using the iDash, and with an iPhone even receive calls (you'll need an optional blue tooth headset to use audio features). With the iDash’s innovative electronics design, you can leave the iBike app without losing any of your ride data; your iDash continues to collect data and retain it for your ride file. Whenever you resume the Bike app, your screen instantly updates your current ride information.

Simple to use

The Phone Booth grabs the free iBike app automatically for you. Setup is just as easy: there are no wires or calibration, just follow the short set-up steps right on your screen.

If you have more than one bike you can easily move the iBike Dash from bike to bike (you may want to buy a second mount) and set up as many bike and rider profiles as you want.

Email your ride file

When you finish your ride, just touch a button to email your ride information file to anyone: yourself, your coach, and friends. There are no USB cables, wires, or complicated “drivers” to install. And, the iBike software is free, so anyone can view all the details of your ride, including a map of your route.

Friendly to other products

The iBike Dash works with the iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G and all generations of iPod touch. It's also compatible with any ANT+ sensor. The iBike ride file software works with Mac and PC.

Nice case, not so great software.

    • Written by from Seminole

I bought this about three weeks ago in hopes of replacing a Garmin Edge 305 and have about 6 rides on it thus far. For various reasons, I have gotten an RMA number to return it, here's why.

First of all, the case is great. It seals up nicely and I am confident that my iPhone 4 will be safe in it. Setup was super easy since it works with my existing Garmin heart rate monitor and speed/cadence sensor. If it weren't for the software, which is the only way you can take advantage of the case hardware, I would be keeping this product without hesitation because I have been looking for a weather resistant case like this for a long time.

Unfortunately, the software is this product's biggest failing. I wanted to customize one of the screens while I was riding and it stopped my ride each time, so I ended up with three rides recorded for one ride. While I was using a trainer, I was able to see calories burned, but when I was on an outside ride, the calories display was always zero. Contrary to what their web site says, the current version of the software DOES NOT continue recording when the App is interrupted. This is a major problem when using an iPhone and getting a phone call. Finally, the PC/Mac software used to analyze rides is pretty bad compared to Garmin Training Center. All you can do is open a ride file and look at the analysis. Garmin training center allows you to import your rides it it stores them organized nicely by year, month, and day and keeps them in a database. No dealing with files on your hard drive.

I contacted support about these issues and the CEO replied to me, which surprised me. He explained that the multitasking issue would be addressed in an upcoming refresh of the software. I also asked if they were planning on opening up the hardware so that other developers could write better software. He mentioned that they had thought about it, but are not interested in dealing with the support issues that may arise from someone else's software not working. He also mentioned that they were going to be updating their PC/Mac software with more features.

Bottom line, I felt like I was paying $200 for a work in progress. I see great potential for this product, but I will hold on to my money until it is ready for prime time or may just buy a new Garmin device.

The best all around cycling computer!

    • Written by from Folsom

Purchase with confidence because iBike is know for their Nordstrom level customer service. How often will you find the CEO of a company respond to your technical question via email within a few hours? Usually companies pay so kid $10/hr to answer those customer questions... but not with iBike. I just had a problem with the charging station for my external battery, and within a few hours the CEO of the company had emailed me back and placed a replacement in the mail to me! iBike is so far ahead of anyone else with this product. There are a few things that I would like to see this app be able to do in the future, but like all apps, it is an evolutionary process.

    PROS:
    - easy to read when on your bike
    - great screen layouts
    - customizable screens
    - plenty of battery power to ride all day long
    - tons of R&D when into product, and it shows
    - ANT+ technology
    - company committed to constantly improving product; free app updates
    - safely encases your iPhone in waterproof seal; case protects your iPhone in the event of a crash

    CONS:
    - pricey product, but you get what you pay for...
    - big compared to other cycling meters but I like the larger screen because it easier to see the data while riding

Ibike's warranty is terrible and bracket is plastic

    • Written by from Asheville

I had the dashboard plus power for less than two months and the plastic bracket broke as I hit a manhole cover and the unit went flying across the road. Ibike refused to fix, repare or replace. Ibike's warranty is 1 month but only if the unit is undamaged so if it fails due to poor design then its on you. Do not buy this especially if you covet your Iphone. More

    iBike Dash

    • Written by from Aurora

I so regret spending over $300 on iBike Dash and its accessories. The case is so poorly designed that I would give it a D- and would recommend its designer to switch to another job. Furthermore, it is constructed with cheap plastic. It is a struggle to put in and out an iPhone. It scratches the edges and the protective sheet on iphone every time I take in or out my phone. The mount does not work if you have a triathlon bike or a bike with aerobars. You have to come up with creative designs to attach it to your bike.

The $150 for the base model is pretty useless, you have to spend additional $200 to get some basic data (cadence, speed, heart rate). If you want to get power data, that is additional. The device is a battery hog; it drains a fully charged iphone in about two hours in ride. If you have to go for multiple-hour bike ride, you must purchase extra battery and charger for iBike.

The screen display does not have an option to control the size of the fonts. As a result it is challenging to read the screen while riding. In addition, the visibility of the screen is significantly reduced if you are wearing sunglasses.

In short, anything else is better than this piece of junk.

cheaply made and not thought out

    • Written by from oxnard

I received this with the screen scratched, but was still going to give it a try. first problem you have to put these cheap foam pieces in for diffrent phones. I put the iPhone 4 ones in and still I could not get my 4 to line up with the dock. Also the plastic is cheap fealing as well as the hinge to lock it. The handle bar mount is huge and hangs off the front of the bars, almost even with the hoods. And looks ridiculous.one other problem is ordering they have so many packages its hard to get what you need and everything is extra Only comes with the bar mount if you want the other cheap mount you have to pay $20 what a rip-off .Never tried the software. Couldn't get past
the hardware. Also no head phone jack they tell you to use bluetooth (note to ibike bluetooth headphones a terrible)
