Better than you can imagine

They have an adjustable subwoofer, and you can go from zero bass to "feeling your insides vibrate" bass. There is no distortion when maxed out on volume in all areas, actually they seem to get clearer (always crisp, never "tin can" sounding) the louder you crank them. I have tried at least a dozen "headset/ computer" speakers, some that were more than triple the price and some that were comparable. They do not look great in pictures, almost cheap, but in person, they are stunning and solid. The unique design is very minimal modern. I move them around my house with my airport express, and people ask me what they are (they have no idea they are speakers unless they are on) They are so versatile, I will plug them into my ipod, iphone, itouch, the computer, the airport express, anything with a headset jack, and I have an incredible stand alone stereo system. If you can't tell, I love them. Just try them, if they don't shock you and win you over, you can always return them, but I highly doubt that will happen. …

This system rocks, you can adjust the bass, and I have connected them through an apple airplay device so that I have full control through any apple device in the house, which is awesome.
They are truly amazing to listen, and when you consider the cost, even more mind blowing!

10 years later and still going strong!

I I have the very first version of these speakers which I have had for over 10 years now and they have been amazing since day one. I work from home and have these hooked up to my iMac. I play music on them 40 hours a week. The sound is great for both music and movies and the bass response is crazy. Normally I keep it on the very lowest setting. If these things don't last me another 10 years I will be surprised. Great looks, great sound and super reliable. This purchase is a no brainer. …

Many newer machines use solid state media for storage. As such these devices are nowhere near as susceptible to damage by magnetic fields. Flash memory uses floating gate transistors to store data, rather than the magnetic method used by hard disks. The presence of a magnetic field is not necessarily a problem for an SSD, but the rate of change of magnetic flux could cause damage.
In either case (SSD or not) your Mac is magnetically shielded and is unlike to suffer damage from being placed near a subwoofer. …

HK Soundstick III sounds puny while BC5's sound is much fuller and sweet. The BC5's sub is wonderful with an exciting "tremolo" I haven't heard from any other. I also have a Klipsh ProMedia 2.1 (Wireless) and just the same, cannot stand up to Bose Companion 5. I recently acquired an Airmotiv 4 and am still evaluating whether this one can hold its own. …
