I own a 15" MacBook Pro late 2009, is there anything I can do to watch audio and video from a Mac to a 1080p HDTV?
- Asked by Michael S from East Sparta

I connect my old MacBook to my HDTV often with a "Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI Adapter" (I use Dynex). I connect an HDMI cable to my tv. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the Dynex adapter. The other side of the Dynex adapter plugs right into the MacBook's mini Display Port. The picture quality is gorgeous.
For audio: I connect my laptop to small external speakers or to my stereo, the same way I do when I listen to music.
I hope that helps. …More- Answered by Terry W from South Orange

What Mini DP to HDMI adapter with audio support can I buy for the previous macbook Model Number A1181?
- Asked by Randy G from Fresh Meadows
- Aug 12, 2010
Best Answer
You don't. The A1181 (the older Macbook) only had Mini DVI, not Mini Displayport, and as such, does not support audio through the display connector. You can use a standard 3.5mm to stereo RCA cable or an optical TOSLink to minijack cable if optical is an option. …More
