This is a terrible product regarding hardware and also a horrible piece of accompanying software. The scanner had to be replaced u This is a terrible product regarding hardware and also a horrible piece of accompanying software. The scanner had to be replaced under warranty in less than 6 months because it inexplicably snatched up to 25 pages of paper at a time when scanning. The software constantly crashes for no explicable reason. This same thing has happened though several revisions of their software. Their only offered solution is to create new libraries and start over! This is of course entirely unacceptable because they never update the software to correct the problem.
Product support never responds appropriately and never explains why the software crashes. Moreover, the company has now discontinued phone support completely and the only way to communicate with them is through e-mail that is also terrible as far as quick, responsive problem resolution.
Do not buy this scanner or software if you expect good customer service, reliability or functionality. …

Sick and Tired of Neat

E I purchased a Neat Scanner in 2009 as I passed through the Atlanta Airport. Seemed like a great way to scan and keep receipts. Especially since being an international traveler, keeping track of receipts is a daunting task. At first, it was fun and was doing it, but then it was a pain to plug in a scanner and carry around on the road. When it came time to sending reports, there was a problem, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Philippine, Hong Kong, and US receipts all in the same file and no one at Neat willing to set up international currencies. For years I have dealt with this by converting Neat reports into a spread sheet and creating/sorting the fields.
Well Years go on, and now Neat has the Neat Cloud. All fine and dandy except the convenience and security that they promise is not there. I started noticing that more and more of my receipts were staying in a state of Processing to the cloud. So I contacted Neat and they told me to delete the program from my phone and start over. WHAT? I will definitely lose the files that have not uploaded to the Cloud! and Yes is the answer that I got back and sorry for the incovienence.
Well there are about 50 receipts that have been lost for sure. . . and now one customer of Neat (Unless I can influence more). From what I see about Neat, they offer a product that suits a few people in their sales and do not care to make things work for all of their customers. If there is a problem - all the warm and fuzzy's that advertising did to get you to buy the product are gone in a heart beat.
I am not sure what product is out there that beats Neat . . . But I am certainly on the hunt. Unless you are always in the USA and only spend US dollars, and always have perfect internet connections. . . This is not the product for you! …

To say this software's documentation is lacking would be an understatement... However, you can combine documents and I know it can reverse page order but i am frustrated with figuring out HOW! I found one answer and do not believe I can do it on the MAC version...at least not the option they describe... The scanning process itself is very efficient.. it is how to manipulate them after you have them.. You truly do not have a lot of convenience in that respect.. Hopefully this helps.... …
