NeatDesk for Mac is the high-speed desktop scanner and digital filing system that will quickly turn all the paper on your desk into organized, digital files. More than just a great scanner, NeatDesk also includes patented NeatWorks for Mac software to identify and extract key information from your paper files, then automatically organize it in the easy-to-use database.
The award-winning ADF (automatic document feeder) scanner provides a central "inbox" for all the paper that normally clutters your workspace. Its unique paper input tray allows you to insert up to 10 receipts, 10 business cards and 10 full-size documents, and scan them all in a single batch. Or remove the tray to scan up to 50 letter-size pages at once. You can even perform double-sided scanning in a single pass.

The software is way behind the windows version, one side of the duplex scanning is 50% quality of the other, post-processing of the image is not acceptable (grainy, no anti-aliasing), and the software is deadly slow. …

This is a terrible product regarding hardware and also a horrible piece of accompanying software. The scanner had to be replaced u This is a terrible product regarding hardware and also a horrible piece of accompanying software. The scanner had to be replaced under warranty in less than 6 months because it inexplicably snatched up to 25 pages of paper at a time when scanning. The software constantly crashes for no explicable reason. This same thing has happened though several revisions of their software. Their only offered solution is to create new libraries and start over! This is of course entirely unacceptable because they never update the software to correct the problem.
Product support never responds appropriately and never explains why the software crashes. Moreover, the company has now discontinued phone support completely and the only way to communicate with them is through e-mail that is also terrible as far as quick, responsive problem resolution.
Do not buy this scanner or software if you expect good customer service, reliability or functionality. …

What a big disappointment and waste of my time

I had several email exchanges with the Ne As mentioned by the majority of the reviewers, the Neat scanner does not work with mac. I had several email exchanges with the Neat support staff, unfortunately, they could not help it running. The software is outdated and still not compatible with the Mavericks, despite what they have told me that it should work with Mavericks.
Although, the Neat scanner is made by Fujitsu, this one does not work with Mac, in contrast to the other ScanSnap Fujitsu scanners (I have 2 of them in use in my business). It looks like the driver software is not configured the right way to function with OS 10.9 (yet). I am sure, it is fixable, but as of now, it is not useful. I hope the problem would be fixed soon, as there are not many alternatives for Mac users out there. Essentially, the scanner hardware (if it is in deed made by Fujitsu) should be ok, the problem lies in the software. …
