Wifi = great; geotagging = not so

    • Written by from Dunlap

I was more interested in the geotagging feature than the wireless transfer capability, and was unfortunately not satisfied with the geotagging results. Since Skyhook (read: not GPS) is used to determine the position, accuracy is poor - especially in areas with few wifi points. Certainly not suitable for tagging your wilderness hiking photos...

Directly transferring images over USB will leave the pictures without an embedded position; images MUST be wirelessly transmitted for the software to tag the images. This takes quite some time for a large number of images, even over 802.11n speeds.

That said, the wireless transfer worked flawlessly and quickly (for wifi, that is).

    nice..class 6

Good speed but it did not work the first time I put in my camera(Nikon d3000). I formatted the card and still did not work, well the third time was the charm, It Worked! well it will upload to iPhoto and MobileMe and Facebook@ flicker among a few. I would recommend this card to any one who whats to upload automatic to there network or hotspot. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars only because of the formatting trouble. More

    Love my eye-fi card

This has dramatically changed how much I share photos. It makes it soo easy. I have my card set up to selectively share photos I lock on my camera directly to Facebook and all the photos I take to download to my computer. This happens without ever plugging my camera into my computer. One thing to note: you might have to change the auto-shut-off settings on your camera (newer cameras are smarter and will keep uploading photos when the camera goes to sleep). I had to do this on my D40. More

Does what it says on the tin...

Works fine. I only use the wireless upload while in my house. Transfer speed is OK, but not what I would call fast. Basically it works as advertised. Direct transfer (to iPad and iPhone) is great. More

    Love this Eye-Fi card!

    • Written by from Saint Louis

Works great. Will never go back to a normal SD card.

My only criticism is that sometimes the GEO feature locates me in New Jersey rather than Missouri. I've tried updating my Wi-Fi network SSID with the WPS provider as suggested. Works often enough that I really can't complain. The inconsistent GEO feature is not a show stopper at all. More

    Answer

Yes it works with Aperture - you need to download a program called 'Aperture Hot Folder' - link available on Eye Fi website and it automatically loads photos from a designated folder directly into Aperture. More
