Yes you can, but your better off using the newer thunderbolt version display. You can plug the Cinem Yes you can, but your better off using the newer thunderbolt version display. You can plug the Cinema Display into any thunderbolt port, just won't get the added ports on back of the display. Ever since thunderbolt cam out, it has been able to use Mini DP cable from the Cinema and other cables used for Mini DP, Example DP to (VGA, DVI, HDMI). But you can not use Thunderbolt Display in a older Mac with Mini DP ports (2009 ?-2012) Mac Pro, Mac Book Pro, ETC …
