Recycling Computers

Apple offers free recycling of your old system with the purchase of any qualifying Apple computer or display.

  1. Opt in: When shopping at the Apple Online Store, you can opt into the Apple Recycling Program. At an Apple Retail Store, a Specialist will offer the option to participate at the point of sale.

  2. Print the email: Once you opt in, Apple will send you an email with instructions on how to recycle your old equipment. The email includes a prepaid FedEx shipping authorization for your old system. Print out the email, as you'll need it later.

  3. Package your items: Securely package and seal your recycled computer and monitor in a box or carton appropriate for ground transportation. Ensure that the items will not shift or break. You must place CPUs and monitors into two separate boxes. For ground packaging guidelines, please visit FedEx.com.

  4. Drop off at FedEx: Take your equipment with a printed copy of the Apple Recycling email at a FedEx location near you.

Recycling iPod Models and Mobile Phones

If you don’t live near an Apple Retail Store, you can recycle your iPod or mobile phone by mail:

  1. Complete the online form: On the Recycling Program for iPod and Mobile Phones page, enter the quantity of iPod units or mobile phones you'd like to recycle. Enter your name and address.

  2. Choose your shipping options: Print out the mailing label and attach it to your own packaging, or request free prepaid packaging materials to ship your items.

  3. Package: Securely package the items and take them to your local post office. Visit usps.com to find a location near you.
