iPad Air at a glance.

All-new design

iPad Air weighs just one pound, and it’s 20 percent thinner.2 But even though it’s extremely light, it has a refined aluminum unibody enclosure that feels solid and durable in your hand.

9.7-inch Retina display

Photos and videos look incredibly detailed and text is razor sharp on the stunning Retina display, which features over 3.1 million pixels — a million more than an HDTV.

A7 chip

The powerful and power-efficient A7 chip with 64-bit architecture makes everything remarkably responsive — while still delivering up to 10 hours of battery life.3

Ultrafast wireless

Now you can get up to 2x faster Wi-Fi performance using 802.11n with MIMO.4 And the Wi-Fi + Cellular model supports more LTE bands for fast connections the world over.1

Powerful apps included

iPad comes with great apps for sending email, browsing the web, and making video calls. It also includes apps that let you do amazing things with your photos, movies, music, documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.

Over 500,000 apps on
the App Store

The App Store has incredible apps designed specifically for iPad. These aren’t just scaled-up phone apps. They take full advantage of iPad technologies like the gyroscope, accelerometer, and every pixel in the 9.7-inch Retina display. So there’s almost no limit to what iPad — or you — can do.5

Choose the iPad that’s right for you.

What’s the difference in storage sizes?

iPad Air comes in four storage sizes: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.6 The term “GB” stands for gigabytes. The more gigabytes you have, the more content you can store on your iPad — apps, HD videos, movies, photos, books, magazines, and more. If, for example, you have a large music library or you frequently download HD movies, it’s a good idea to consider an iPad with a larger storage capacity. If you have a relatively small music or photo library or rarely make or buy movies, an iPad with a smaller capacity may be better for you. Of course, over time you will add more content to your iPad, so you’ll want to think about how your storage needs may evolve.

Wi–Fi or Wi–Fi + Cellular?

Wi-Fi model: Uses high-speed Wi-Fi networking to connect to the Internet. It’s ideal if you have a wireless Internet router in your home or if you’ll be using your iPad Air near a wireless hotspot in a coffee shop or school library, for example. There are Wi-Fi hotspots nearly everywhere around the world — iPad with Wi-Fi finds them automatically.

Wi-Fi + Cellular model: Keeps you connected to the Internet using a fast mobile data connection when Wi-Fi isn’t available. So you can stay connected when you’re commuting on the train, hanging out at the park, or looking for directions during a road trip. It’s available without a contract, and service is sold separately. 1. Data plan required. LTE is available in select markets and through select carriers. Speeds will vary based on site conditions. For details on LTE support, contact your carrier and see www.apple.com/ipad/LTE.
  2. Compared with iPad (4th generation). Size and weight vary by configuration and manufacturing process.
  3. Testing conducted by Apple in October 2013 using preproduction iPad Air units and software. Testing consisted of full battery discharge while performing each of the following tasks: video playback, audio playback, and Internet browsing using Wi‑Fi or cellular data network. Video content was a repeated 2-hour 23-minute movie purchased from the iTunes Store. Audio content was a playlist of 358 unique audio tracks purchased from the iTunes Store. Internet over Wi‑Fi and cellular data network tests were conducted using dedicated web and mail servers, browsing snapshot versions of 20 popular web pages, and receiving mail once an hour. All settings were default except: Wi‑Fi was associated with a network (except for Internet browsing over cellular data network); the Wi‑Fi feature Ask to Join Networks and Auto-Brightness were turned off; Brightness was set to 50%; and WPA2 encryption was enabled. Battery life depends on device settings, usage, and many other factors. Battery tests are conducted using specific iPad units; actual results may vary.
