    Didn't last long

    • Written by from Maple Grove

I purchased this printer in January of 2013 and the ink head has already gone out on the black ink. I expected it to last longer than that!

    Don't Buy!!

    • Written by from Bountiful

I bought this printer because it says it has AirPrint (had a previous printer from HP that wasn't AirPrint compatible which also had issues). My first day setting it up, it worked fine and was able to print from all of my Apple devices. I'm pretty tech savvy but ever since day one, I can only print wirelessly from my computer - I constantly get the error message "No AirPrint printers found" when I try printing wirelessly from my iPhone and iPad. I will never buy an HP product again as I always end up having issues with their products. I've tried setting up wireless direct from the printer (as well as turning off wireless direct), going through the set up wizard, installing new drivers, powering off and unplugging/plugging back in and nothing seems to work. For a split second while going through the wireless setup wizard on the printer, my iPhone actually found the printer but than once the wizard completed and it showed connected to my wireless server, my iPhone lost the connection and couldn't find the printer again. It's the one time I actually threw away the box to something so I can't return it - only option remaining is to take it out to a field and re-enact the scene from Office Space then go buy a new printer from a different manufacturer.

Average prints ink low fast, Scan SLOW, Printer thinks carts counterfeit

    • Written by

Definitly more Annoying than amazement.. Slow scanning, very average OKAY printings, collaborated the 8/12 by 11 pages to print was a pain. Whoop your tiny ink cartridge ran out fast too . Now haven't being printed a long time and just relying on this stupid slow scanner, Finally IT THINKS THE CARTRIDGES ARE COUNTERFEIT AND HAVE BEEN REFILLED (yes the message just came today and had the official HP cartridge in their the whole time.. MAKES ME THINK THEY PURPOSELY MADE THEM SMALL AS A MONEY MAKING SCHEME. GOOD ONE HP, maybe instead of recognizing what cartridge is in your printer, you should recognize the cheap product you made.. If you like to constantly spend money on ink with average prints OR just want a slow standalone scanner get this junk. That being said, time to buy a new one cause its better to SKIP THIS AND GET ANOTHER PRINTER/SCANNER maybe Epson or Cannon. I would not spend more than $47.99 on this one regardless of it being running on Apple or PC.

    HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer

    • Written by from COLLEGE STATION

I purchased this printer for my home office and use for college. It works very well, at first when I tried to set it up I called technical support from HP. They help me set it up and told me about the things it would allow me to do. I am very happy with this printer, I also got one for my grandchildren who have many apple products and they love the fact they can print from all of their devices. Best printer ever.

Great printer if you enjoy paper jams and buying ink cartridges...

    • Written by from APO

Have had good success with prior HP all in ones and hoped this would be as good. From the start I have been disappointed...so so print quality, small but expensive ink cartridges that don't last long and seem to dry out quickly, and printer constantly jams. Don't buy it.

    Awesome Printer!

    • Written by from Concord Twp

I had an EPSON XP-400 before this printer and it would always print crooked, the ink didn't last long, and anytime you touched the printer the whole thing would squeak and rattle.

This HP Photosmart 6520 is a much much better printer. The build quality is great, the software is good and I love that it feeds paper from the front!

    Unreliable....

    • Written by from Midvale

I have had this printer for about 2 years now. I bought it for school because I would be doing most of my homework on my iPad at the time. It works great when I'm printing from my iPhone - never has a problem. However, whenever I print from my iPad, my MacBook Air, or my iMac, I have to physically unplug and replug the printer! I'm loosing my mind!

Best Printer I have Ever Owned!

    • Written by from Valley Stream

This printer is perfect for those who love wireless printing! You can print wirelessly from your laptops, desktops, iPhones, iPads, and iPods. I think it is also compatible with other smart phone and tablets (non apple products). This printer even gives you the option to create an email that pretty much lets you print from anywhere! (Say you are at work or any other place--you can send whatever document/photo to the email you have created with HP and it will instantenously start printing from your printer at home! It prints fast! I highly recommend this printer to anyone who complains about having cables everywhere, having just one computer to print from b/c of their printer being connected to that one computer. Once you have tried wireless printing, you will never want to use a non-wireless printer. I have nothing bad to say about this HP Photosmart 6520 printer. GET IT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

    Bad Printer!

    • Written by from New Kent

I loved this printer for the 1st year! Then it stopped working. Would not print anything with black ink!!! Called customer care and talked with some one in India. Was told for a FEE they would send me to a support line. After doing some research, I found that many Mac users are having the same problem! So it is now in a dump and I will not buy HP again!

    A Frustrating Photo printer

    • Written by from Wallingford

The thing works AOK printing documents, fast and legible but a crock when it comes to printing A4 photos. It fails time after time to pick up the photo paper so one's prints are offset. Print saying 'plain paper' and all I is well other then the soggy plain paper) but tell the machine that it has A photo paper in it, and the output is screwed with margins at the edges. Don't buythis if you want to print A4 pix or you will be disappointed.....

    Crapola

    • Written by from massillon

This will work good for 6 months and then it will stop feeding and stop recognizing the black ink cartridge. It wont print black at all. HP says its common with Macs and they don't have a fix. I would not recommend this at all.

    Great Printer for Home Use

    • Written by from Indianapolis

Purchased this printer in July along with my first MAC.. I was excited just because it was wireless. I have yet to manually connect the printer to any device meaning I've been printing wireless since it came out of the box with absolutely no problems! I print from my iPad, iPhone, macbook, etc. now if you're attempting to use this printer for a small business light usage etc, it will work fine especially for the price point. however if you're seeking to use this printer for a full-blown active business.. this is not your product. Perfect for school.. just sent one to both of my children away at college.

    Nice Printer

    • Written by from West Bloomfield

I'm using this with my Mac Mini and no issues. Based on some reviews I set a static IP address for the printer and the WIFI connection has been rock solid. It prints very fast. Good photo printing. I even like the free eFax program. I can send up to 20 faxes a month at no charge. I also like the eprint feature that lets you send any document to your printer from any remote location. The only issue is that it does hold as much paper as my previous printer (C310a) did. It does have a separate photo try which is nice for 4x6 and 5x7 photos. It also has some built in APPS. for quick printing of calendars, etc..

    Big disappointment

    • Written by from Bloomington

This printer is very disappointing. It loses its wireless connection constantly and runs out of ink quickly. The ink is very expensive and the quality of the print is just not that good.

I loved HP printers in the past, and I regret this purchase very much.

Cheap, plastic printer poor paper tray design

    • Written by from Livermore

Bought this printer in March 2013 and the paper tray finally quit feeding paper in June. Paper jams throughout time I have used it. During my teaching career I taught the Office Program so I have used printers since 1986. HP printers made during the first 10-15 years from HP were solid, well-built, designed to take the constant printing needs for the computer classes with an average of 30 students per class for 6 to 8 classes each day. HPs newest computers are JUNK! Cheap plastic and cheaply made. Yes, printers do cost less today. However, I would rather pay more and have them last for years with less problems. It often took us days to get the printer working with all the different programs so when you consider that time it takes to set one up it is worth the extra cost to get one that is reliable. There is NO HP tech support either!

    WPS

    • Written by from FORT WORTH

2.5 stars. This is a WPS enabled printer which means staying connected to the home network is a nightmare if you don't have a WPS enabled router. AT&T and HP point their fingers at each other, while the customer is SOL. Scanning is painfully slow, basic printing operation is fine.
    You can do better.

    Worst printer ever

    • Written by from Chevy Chase

Do not buy this printer. It never works well. It requires toner changes after only printing a few pages, is always backed up, spooling, giving us error messages. What an aggravating part of our home office!!! It is great that you spend only $150 on it because it will go through that much in toner in the first 2 weeks.
