    bad case

    • Written by from Saginaw

It Looked very nice and good looking at first, but after a few days the color around the corners start changing and getting darker and after a small falling down it will look like an old vintage case.

    So far so good

    • Written by from Orlando

Have had the Brown Leather case for about a week now. As it is leather it will deteriorate and look older, and that is expected. People complying about dirt have apparently never owned a case because every single phone case I have ever had does the same thing. I typically hate phone cases, but this one makes it bearable. Would recommend to anyone that doesn't want a gigantic bulky case, but wants more protection than a little plastic shell which do nothing.

    Love this case!

    • Written by from Spring

I recently purchased the iPhone 5s and the brown leather case along with it. I love the classic look of the brown leather and how sleek the phone feels with it on. Since it is leather it is going to change color and texture, much like a well-loved pair of boots or a saddle (part of why I choose the brown one). Personally, I cannot wait for the brown leather to have some character added to it! As for the fit of the case, it snaps on and fits quite snug. Many reviews have complained of how difficult it is to remove the case but I have no problems. I turn my phone upside down, place my thumbs on the two bottom corners of the case and push, the bottom of the phone "snaps" out. Then I just slide it the rest of the way out of the case. I have not dropped my phone yet, but the salesman said this is a very sturdy and protective case against drops. I've read some other reviews that say they have dropped the phone and the case protected very well. I'm hoping they are all correct!

Fits awesome and Thin but discolors after a few weeks.

    • Written by from Baldwinsville

It is still by far the best case for my iPhones I've had yet. It is very thin so I don't really realize it is there. The materials it is made with has a great feel to it but after normal wear, my red case, now has black edges. So I recommend if you get this case that you get the black one so its not noticeable. Other than that it is a pretty nice case.

    So many problems

    • Written by from Schwenksville

I am surprised and disappointed in the execution of this case. First of all, FORGET about getting a color other than black, unless you like a dirty-looking case. Even the brown had blue jean stains and fingerprint stains on it within 2 days, and I am a tidy, OCD type female. The leather is so matte and absorbent and fragile that it absorbs any and every thing in its environment, and it tears so easily. Don't put it in your jeans pocket, or near anything sharp. The case does fit very well, provides a non-slip surface, and protects the corners, so I give it 2 stars for that.

In the end, I am not giving it 2 stars because it gets dirty. Buyer beware, and some folks don't care about that. I am giving it 2 stars because it cripples the phone!!! I have tried no less than 4 different adapters, and nothing will fit in the bottom of the case except Apple's lighting power cord. If you have a car that uses USB (which you do, because no manufacturer has transitioned to lightning) you will not be able to charge your phone or play music unless you take the darn case off. And it ain't easy to take off.

Third, and this is major.....your headset jack may not work properly I have ultimate ears headphones with a standard 3.5mm jack, and because the leather case has such a TINY opening, and because the leather is on the thick side, it won't plug quite the whole way in. It plugs in enough to play music, but it's slightly out and the headset controls (pause, play, volume up/down, answer call) will not work!!) I almost called Ultimate ears to request a replacement because I thought my headphones were broken, until I plugged them into my computer and they worked fine. I took a look at the bottom of my iPhone and realized it wouldn't plug in the whole way because of the case.

This case is WAY overpriced. It's thin and flimsy, with a very thin covering of tissue-paper like leather that picks up every stain possible. But it is inexcusable to me that Apple would design a case that doesn't work with a variety of headphones, and that doesn't work with any adapter, even their OWN!! Particularly when they just changed the form factor a year ago and there are so many devices and vehicles that use USB. I feel this is a sign of poor design to come...

Well that, and the release of the new Pages and Maverick.

For a very spesific selection of users.

I like to use my Apple products with Apple accessories therefore I bought this case yesterday and I'm using ever since. First impressions: It fits your iPhone 5&5s perfectly and If you ONLY use Apple earpods and stock lightning cable they also fit in nicely but for other products like docks etc. even Apple's own products are not competible. But for someone like me who doesnt use any other products and docks It is usefull and the leather is really quality made but if you use lighter colors prepare to dirt marks thats why I bought black one. I am really happy with it.

    Okay

It's an okay case and it looks good with the phone but I've only had it for a week and a half and it's already wearing and tearing. For the price I paid for it, it wasn't worth it.

Appealing on Shelf but wears out quickly -Low quality

    • Written by from Washington

Case looked great when I first bought it. Now a month later it is very worn out. Lots of reviews say it looks dirty. but I believe this is just the leather rubbing off. I used leather cleaner and it barely removed any dirt, yet the case still looked terrible. This is because the leather is so thin it wears off very quickly. What a waste of 40 bucks!

Does the job, wears quickly, very overpriced

    • Written by from Chicago

I recall the days of the 4 and 4S and Apple made bumpers designed for the phones. Perfect! This year I was excited to see the same thing. However, it's been 10 days and my brown leather Apple case that cost over $40 incl. tax is showing extensive signs of wear, mainly from being in and out of a pocket. It looks quite dirty now, and though it's protected the phone from a small fall, the buttons aren't clicking as well anymore, and the leather is starting to peel away which looks terrible. Thankfully I bought it at Verizon, so I'll return it for a refund.

I bought the Red one, very nice case other than the fact it gets dirty easy (or shows the dirt I should say) and wont clean off....looks grubby, and I am not a person to subject my phone to dirty conditions etc....

Dressy to dirty in one week

    • Written by from Eagle

The case looks great when you put it on but the good times don't last. Looks like you have been through grease and grime within and week and then it just gets worse. Fits the phone well and is slim and sleek but who cares if all you can see is the dirt.

    Simple but good

    • Written by from Red bank

I bought the beige for my gold iphone 5s, and the beige smart case for my iPad air.
    pros
    *nice feeling due to leather
    *nice variety of colors
*apple charger and ear plugs fit well in.
    *snug and fits amazingly
    cons
    * simple! Apple could have come up with something better!
    *gets messy easily

    Conclusion
A good case, but try to keep clean. Snug and fits well with most earplugs and some chargers.
If you have and iPad and iPhone 5/5s you can get the smart case and they match each other. Overall it gets a 3

not as good as I imagine

    • Written by from Carlsbad

Have it in red, It is really nice the color, the grip and texture but it's hard to take it off and the more important is that it's hard to keep it clean, only 5 days using it and the edges are grey because holding it. I expected more than what it is for the price.

    • Written by from Chuluota

Awesome design of the case, feels great and it protects the phone perfectly. However if you do drop your phone, the phone will be fine, but it will take a chunk out of the leather. I have had mine for a month and I have a corner of the case missing from the one time I dropped it.

Bose headphones don't fit with cover on!

    • Written by from SAN RAMON

Liked this case until I tried to plug in headphones. Hole in case for headphone isn't large enough to permit full connection of headphones to headphone jack!
Guess if I never plan to use headphones the case is nice. Not happy :(

    One Month In

    • Written by from Hermantown

I own the black, the red, and the tan iPhone 5S leather cases. I took some extra steps in preserving the leather knowing that any leather product that I've owned in my 30 years of life will eventually show wear. I applied several layers of water/oil proof spray (like you get at a shoe store) and leather multi-color wipes on my tan and red cases. On my black, I picked up a container of leather wipes (like you use in a car). All three look in perfect condition a month in. The tan doesn't have any dark marks on the buttons or anything else, neither does the red. The black looks better than when I first bought it.

    Note:
I wear suites 5-6 days a week and typically won't put my leather cases in dark jeans.

These are great cases, with a little common sense, your money will be well spent.

It's great for a few days...

    • Written by from West Hartford

I've had my case for about 2 weeks now. It looks like I've had it for a year. I loved the case when I first got it - looks great, feels great, fits great. But it wears like none other, one day in the jeans and it got stained blue. Picks up scuffs and dirt VERY easily (just from putting it in and out of your pocket). It will make your brand new sparkling 5s look worn and dirty, and you know you got that thing to show off, so unfortunately, don't buy this case. Wish I could return it.
