Waste of $40 pass on this one!

    • Written by from North Babylon

I was excited for the Apple brand case at first and once I was able to get it on I loved it. Then after only a few days in my pocket the case began to wear and the case looked scuffed and the beige color I bought had suddenly began to darken around the edges. I don't keep anything than my phone in my pocket. Definitely not the quality I expected and removing this case is very difficult. I thought I was breaking my phone, it's that hard. A waste of $40.

    Not impressed

    • Written by from Sutton

The fit of the case is great and that is where it ends. I'm not impressed with the leather case. I've had it for almost a month and it already looks worn and used. I expected a lot more from Apple. I would recommend purchasing a different case from someone else. The edges of the case show the most worn, I'm not a heavy user. I usually just slide my phone in and out of my pocket. Every edge is worn out and probably won't last until Christmas.

    Stains!!!

    • Written by from Glassport

Looked great when I first put it on and fits great but it's discolored in only a week. From placing it in my pocket for a week it has gotten black stains along the edges. Don't buy.

    Horrible quality

    • Written by from Cambridge

I loved how it looked on the shelf and I thought It will look amazing on my new iPhone 5s. I was mistaken. It changes the color quickly and gets dirty easily. It is made of nice feeling leather but low quality. Don't waste your money buying this. Apple, you disappoint me :(

One month from delivery to trash

    • Written by from BLOOMFIELD

This is the worst case I've ever had. It's not only FILTHY, after exactly a month, but the leather has actually worn off in a few places. Overpriced and not worth it! I've never felt like such a sucker.

Poor design cracked between headphone jack and case

    • Written by from Chilliwack

This case is a joke..had case for 2 weeks and it tore between the headphone jack and the edge. Bought a genuine apple 30 pin to lightning adapter and the case has to come off to use the adapter. Very frustrating due to the fact I am buying genuine apple products that don't work together. Very disappointed.

    BRING BACK THE NAPA LEATHER!!!

    • Written by from Long Beach

I love the look and feel of this case, and I was looking forward to purchasing it for my iPhone 5 the moment it was announced. The wear however, is terrible. After only a few weeks of use, the case looks dirty, and the brown color is already starting to wear off around the edges. I expected much more from an apple product.

They should bring back the old napa leather used on the old iPod classic case by apple 7 years ago. Those were $99 but worth every penny!

    DO NOT BUY

    • Written by from Allentown

I cannot believe that Apple put out this and it passed anytype of Quality Audit.
You cannot have this case on the phone and insert BOSE headphone jack through this into the jack, except the 'APPLE' headphones.

    How is that possible?

    Not a fan

    • Written by from Wellington

I loved the light feel of the case at first, but the corners started to rip within a couple days. I then noticed how dirty it became in such a short time.

The kicker, my phone is now damaged after one drop. I have owned iPhones for years and have always been satisfied with how the cases I have protect my phone. That is after all why we have cases...right?? I'll be the first to admit that I drop my phone quite a bit, but that is why I get sturdy cases. I figured a case that Apple specifically makes for the phone would be just that, but I guess I was wrong.

I would recommend looking for a different case.

    Low quality

    • Written by from Alexandria

I bought this case yesterday when I picked up my new iPhone 5S. It has been less than 48 hours, and already the case is showing signs of wear on the edges (both front and back). The leather is nice and soft, but is already getting dingy looking. I plan on returning it to the store on Tuesday after the holiday and buying a third party leather case online.

    Do not recommend

    • Written by from Tampa

The case looked great when I first put it on. In less than a week it looked worn and dirty. I bought the beige to use with my new gold 5S. I washed my hands frequently and kept the phone in my purse and it still looked awful within a few days. It is the worst Apple product I've ever purchased.

    Ridiculous Impractical Design

    • Written by from Dallas

    When this case is on, I cannot;

    1) Sit my iPhone in the dock I purchased
    2) Connect my Shure headphones

due to the bottom connection points being inaccessible. I would imagine a large portion of iPhone users do not use the standard headphones. The dock is Apple issued. This design flaw is ridiculous.

Not what I expect from Apple

    • Written by from Bonn

Looks good in the store (I bought the brown one). I removed it after a few hours:

    - the beautiful iPhone does not feel good in your hands with this cover: not the texture, not the size, not the weight. Not what I am used to how an Apple product should feel when I touch it. -- (I had an apple bumper for the iPhone 4s, which felt good.)
    - already some signs of use after a couple of hours (and no, my hands were not dirty and I only had it in the pocket of my jacket and my jeans, no dirt or food in there either). Will not take more than a few days until it will start looking ugly.
    - the power button has to be pressed surprisingly hard in order to respond (and still doesn't always respond)
    - and yes, you need to know how to remove it, in order to do just that. I had to get on the internet to look up instructions. A magazine was nice enough to create a short "how-to" movie, because so many people were struggling and asking for help. So, it is a problem.

The ONLY GOOD thing: it does not interfere with UMTS /LTE or WLAN reception -- as some other cases do

Sorry Apple, you could do much better, this is ridiculous for 39 Euro.

I am going back to wearing my iPhone like I believe Steve Jobs would have intended it: au naturelle.

    I want to love it

    • Written by from KNOXVILLE

I've been using the brown case since 10/4. Today is 10/8. The case looks terrible. I want to love this case. It looked great and felt great. I've gotten so many compliments on the feel of it and the color until people see it close up. It's filthy and I haven't had it outside and, I wash my hands... I had ordered the beige color and it's acutally in the mail, but I'm going to return it. If the brown gets this filthy in 4 days, I cannot imagine how the beige will look. Beautiful case, amazing feel, wrong material. Sorry guys, this was a miss.

Extremely poorly constructed and borderline junk

    • Written by from Salt Lake City

The problem is that the leather is not constructed to be durable enough to withstand normal use. Unlike the leather used for wallets, keycases, etc. that are tanned and finished to tolerate daily handling, this case looks great for about three days. After that, rather than wearing and becoming more weathered, soft and beautiful like good leather, it frays and collects grime, becoming stained. You will be left with an unsightly piece of garbage that you paid $40 for within a month.

Headphone and Aux Cords will not fit!!!

    • Written by from Flowood

I was pumped about the case. I bought the light brown and it looked great. Walked to my car from the Apple store and tried to plug in my car Aux cord, didn't fit. Tried my headphones, didn't fit. Walked back in the Apple store and tried every aux cord they had, none fit. I'm a huge Apple fan, but seriously. . . who tested this and gave it the thumbs up??? Not to mention my 30 pin to Lightning cord doesn't fit.

Looks good but quality is terrible!

    • Written by from Toronto

Bought the light beige, fits great and looks very nice. BUT I held phone with dirty hands and went to clean the case...I took a damp soft cloth to clean off the dirt AND THE COLOR PAINT CAME RIGHT OFF! The painted coating is super cheap!!!
I can understand scuffing a case by dropping it etc. But to have the color come off with a gentle wipe is pathetic. At $45 I expect a better product.

    Didn't feel like leather

    • Written by from MONTGOMERY VILLAGE

although I have no doubt that the materials and craftsmanship are tops, if someone told me it was simply made from compressed cardboard, I'd believe that over leather. I was hoping that it would have a slightly tacky feel being leather but it has more of a slippery hard cardboard feel in the hand. I also felt that it being leather might make it prone to staining if my hand was dirty or accidentally placed on an unclean surface.
It is a very tight fit for the phone and I wonder how it would stand-up to being removed numerous times.
