    Too Big

    • Written by from Lakewood

The sound is great, but seriously, the in-ear design is way too big! Apparently designed with men in mind! Even the slightest tug on the cord pulls the headphones our of my ears. Very frustrating.

    Poor durability, good sound quality

    • Written by from San Francisco

    Pros:
    - Good sound quality (for price)
    - Much more comfortable than "earpods"

    Cons:
    - Very fragile. I'm on my 6th pair (seriously!)

Fortunately Apple has replaced my for free every time they've broken, but it's annoying to go into the store so frequently to have them replaced.

    Good sound but poorly designed

I like the sound of the earbuds. The frequency is very balanced very close to the professional studio monitors I use. If you are like the majority of people who like a loud bass, these are not your choice. If you look for a balanced and accurate sound, these are perfect.
While the sound is very good, the design is pretty bad. Most earbuds I've owned, they all have some sort of a lip/ring on the earbud tube that goes into the tip and there is also a ring on the tip to lock to the earbud tube. The Apple version is a smooth tube on the tip and earbud. As you use them, grease gets between the surfaces and tip slides off very easily. It's not difficult to solve the issue by offering a filter in a bigger diameter and retool the tip tooling to add a ring inside the tip tube so they interlock when tip is on the tube.

Almost there, but not for the value.

Love the clarity and can really pick up little sounds and whispers i haven't hear before. Found that very nice. The build is great, but for the value these headphones have the following issues:

    - earbud tips fall off too easily
    - little to no bass in sound (changing EQ settings makes the bass very muddy)
    - volume is somewhat limited

Overall i really love the clarity and should fit certain people that work with sound and want that clarity, but the lack of bass was my biggest let down given the price point. Still im pretty happy with them, but maybe watch for a sale on them etc.

    Very Disappointing!

I purposely upgraded from the standard ear buds to the high-end model, fully expecting a dramatic improvement in sound and comfort.

To be fair, these are noticeably more comfortable than the standard issue model, allowing extended usage without wearer fatigue, common with the lesser model.

Unfortunately, the improvement in audio is only marginally better, and specifically limited to high frequencies. The single greatest drawback of these ear buds is their shocking inabliity to reproduce low frequency sound faithfully. I thought I was listening to an old AM radio when using these!

Switching between the different size silicon inserts offered no improvement in fidelity or even appreciably improved sound isolation from exterior noise.

To convince myself I wasn't imagining all this, I did an A/B comparision with a pair of J-Labs J6 J-Buds. There was no contest. While both reproduced high frequencies admirably, the J-Labs were so vastly superior with low frequencies, there simply was no comparison at all.

Do yourself a favor and save yourself $80 with these. J-Labs are just better and at a fraction of the cost (I got mine for $24.99 at Amazon).

As a professional broadcaster for 37 years, take my word for it - these AREN"T worth it!

    Good, not great

For $79, you can get almost 3 of the regular headphones, which are as good for output quality. Totally not worth the price, especially since you can't buy spare buds.

    Meh

I had high hopes for these headphones. In particular, the idea of two drivers appealed to me. The highs and mids on the headphonee are good. The bass, however, is lacking any form of substance. I recommend that you pass on these.
