    Good headphones, still fall out

    • Written by from Hanover

The headphones are good, and sound good as well, as long as they stay in your ear. I have found Apple's headphones slip out of my ears if I am running or working out, and it is SO annoying. I usually buy an extra pair of headphones from another maker with the silicon inserts to keep them in my ears.

    Not Apples best

    • Written by from Springfield

The sound is great. But they're always falling out so it's not like it matter. My Sony headphones that are only $20 stay in, why can't these!

    Great sound, not great fit

    • Written by from Utica

I got these with the iPod Touch 5th gen. and I must say the sound was surprisingly good. The bass is really good for in-ear headphones and the music is very clear. What disappointed me was the fit. It was all hyped up to be a perfect fit for all ears, but they are not as sturdy as I would have liked. I am 15 years old, and I have huge ears, so that could be a reason. Plus I am disappointed with the remote and mic not coming with the iPod version. Other than that, I love the headphones.

    Great sound with bad comfort

    • Written by from Fort Wayne

Apple nailed it when it came to the design of these for the sound. Highs, mids, and lows are all perfect and go exactly where they need to go for the best sound experience. That's why I'm so disappointed with the comfort of them. They don't fall out, at least I've never had a problem with them. The problem is they are the second most uncomfortable pair of earbuds I've ever had. They hurt my ears and I find that I can't stand wearing them for long periods of time. Due to that factor, I'm definitely going to be switching back to a better pair of earbuds and leaving these in my desk drawer.
You were almost there Apple. Just work on the comfort. I can't see a hard lump of plastic, no matter what its shape, being a universal fit for everyone's ears. Try something softer maybe.

sounds okay, still hurts my ears

    • Written by from Kanata

Just got the new touch with the EarPods. Sound is good, but after half and hour they started hurting my ear :-( I guess have ears much smaller than average, and very different from the "test people" . I'll be going back to the small earbuds I finally found after much searching. Unfortunately they aren't meant for a iPod, so no radio antenna in the wire.

Good headphones but may be a little problem

    • Written by from Maitland

These headphones are great! the sound quality is good, the bass is decent but there is one problem i found. On songs that have worst sound quality than Itunes standard make my headphones crackle. I'm not sure if this is just my pair. And also these aren't very comfortable (maybe because i didn't wear the old headphones). Overall not bad.

    not bad

    • Written by from London

the sound is awesome, and they are the only ear buds that fit in my ears all others fall out and never fit right. The only thing is the plastic is hard and it really hurts after a few minutes.

People with small ears.. Beware :/

    • Written by from toronto

Lets just start of the bad stuff first to be a bit original. The size of the earpods are for people with bigger ears. :/ Doesn't fit for me, or atleast it does but it hurts and it falls out. But on the other hand it does sound wonderful! Incredible bass for the price and of course, the control talk is a definite bonus! If it fits your ear, 5 stars! Only reason I gave it 3 stars is because of sound and built quality. Would get 5 if there were physical sizes available.

    Fits perfectly, but...

I am disappointed that they do not work with my Shuffle 3G

DO NOT buy the earpods if you want to use it with your Shuffle 3G and expect the remote to work

However, the audio quality is great and no other $30 earbuds can beat it.

Apple if you add Shuffle 3G support I would give a 5 star rating

    Two Complaints

    • Written by from Amarillo

Really nice sound quality, almost as good as the Bose headphones I've owned.

The first problem is, no matter what you are doing, any touch to the volume controls will cause random music to start playing; you have no way to stop this from happening. Watching a movie? Bump the volume, the video will get dropped and music will start playing. Dictating a note? Bump the volume, record/dictation app will crash, and music will start playing. Taking a call? Call will end, and music will start playing. iPod or iPhone turned off and in your bag? Bump the headphones' volume button, and music will start playing.

The other complaint is that the cord is about two inches too short for me, so I have to walk along hunched over, which was not a problem with my aftermarket JVC earplug-type headphones; and, as these are slick, they tend to fall out of my ears frequently, which has not been a problem with any headphones I've owned.

    A bit Disappointing

    • Written by from Fontana

Even though I did give them 3 stars. I would've given them at least one more. The problem I have with this ear pods is that they still fall out of my ear like all the previous ones. I have to adjust them every 10 minutes other than that I love the sound and the controls on the mic.

Left handed, so gave them to my husband

    • Written by from Ventura

I really liked the quality of these head phones generally. They seem to have good sound. I find them comfortable and they even seem a bit more heavy duty than the ear buds (that is, I thought I'd have a less likely chance of destroying the pod wires than I normally do with new ear buds).
However, I am left handed and tend to talk on the phone listening in my left ear, and control my remote with my left hand. This is not a problem with ear buds, even though they are labeled "right" and "left," because the ears are identical. This sounds silly, but I didn't even think about this when I bought my ear pods because I've never had to think of it before. I spent the first day wondering why the sound wasn't very good .... well, I put the right pod in my left ear, so the mic. wasn't facing the correct direction. I tried talking on the phone with the mic/ remote on the right side (so that the speakers would be correct in my ears) but I cannot adjust. :( I swapped for my husband's old ear buds. My question: will Apple make a left-remote version for those of us left-inclined?? :D

Ear ache isn't worth the hype

    • Written by from Indianapolis

I have been using this headphone for the past two days now and there isn't much good as well as bad to report.

Comfort: Sure the redesign is nice and is slightly a better fit that the previous model but even after I get them settled into my ears for about 15 minutes my ears start feeling sore. I tried to set them in different positions to see which is best but its the same results where my ears get sore. Maybe if I have surgery to remove some my ears' cartilage then the headphones might fit and feel better.

Sound: Much better: They do have a better frequency response and better dynamics.

Remote: The finger press response is SO MUCH more better! The clicks feel solid and smooth compared to the previous model where I found myself having to click multiple times for the correct sequence.

Summary: Good sound with great user experience for the remote and worth the $30 for those reasons. However, its a gamble with comfort; hoperfully you will have the right size ear where they don't get sore.

I'd like to like these earpods

    • Written by from Sydney

I've always had trouble with the original round Apple earphones. From the iPhone 3 to 4S, I could never get them to fit into my ear and sit naturally. They would always sit at an odd angle and let the sound leak out (resulting in very tinny audio).

My other alternative was to mash the earphones into my ear, but this was always a temporary solution as the earphones would eventually pop out again.

In short, these earpods suffer the same issue as the original earphones. They're too large and refuse to sit comfortably in my ear.

I've watched videos of people placing these earpods in their ears and they seem to fit very comfortably and snuggly, but they just don't work for me.

Of my experience with these earpods so far -- The audio quality is great, and there's a massive reduction in the noise that comes from handling the cable.

But all of these positive points mean nothing if the earpods don't fit in my ear.

Apple needs to make a SMALLER version of these earpods -- Based on the reviews i'd be happy to pay a premium for them, so long as they fit. As for now, i'm sticking with my Sennheiser 598 headphones, as no earphone on the market seems to fit me correctly.

    Apple Earphones

The sound is great, although in comparison to the previous generation its just a bit different. However, the fit is terrible. The buds are constantly slipping out. I feel as though the fit might be too big.

Well made earbuds would give 5 stars if they were smaller or came in multiple sizes. They are too big to fit well into my ears comfortably.

    • Written by from Tallahassee

These earpods are stylish enough. If your sitting listening to music and such, they are great. But, once you start doing any exercise activity they pop out of the ear from sweat and movement. I always wondered why the deleted the foam pads from there older model.
