Still Do Not Work As Advertised

    • Written by from New York

I wanted to be happy, I wanted to finally have an apple provided headphone work but the same old issue remains.

Although apple made some overall improvements to the sound quality, the one major issue remains that these earpods/ in-ear headphones just do not stay in your ears.
Try wearing these and walking for more than a few steps and you have to constantly adjust due to the cheap plastic that these are made of.

    Really Nice Job Apple

    • Written by from Memphis

For the past 3 years, I have been under the impression that the old earphones were halfway decent. I thought that only super expensive headphones like Beats could deliver on crisp high performance sound. I just wanted to say that the Earpods blew away my expectations. The sound is crisper and the bass is unbelievable. Now really great sound can come with a $30 price tags.

    Pros: Wonderful Bass
    Larger volume control
    Volume control feels more durable
Dont hurt after long period of wearing

Cons- Even though the new design is very comfortable. It can be yanked out easier. They stay in well with regular use. But a sharp tug on the cord will pull them out of your ears. Not a big problem

Forget the iPhone 5,..these headphones are the real innovation!

    • Written by from New York

I'm not kidding. Headphones drive me crazy. Doesn't matter how much I spend. In-ear phones either fall out or don't give me any bass unless I walk around with my fingers pressed to my ears. I've also tried the ones that clip around the ear,...but they aren't great and eventually make my ears sore.

These new $29 headphones from Apple just....work. They fit in my ear. Even though they feel a little loose they don't fall out and they have good bass. Turn on bass-booster on your iPhone/iPod and they sound as good as some of the big on-ear headphones. My go-to song to test headphones is U2 - "Still haven't found what I'm looking for". Very clean at the start and then the bass kicks in. It rocks with these cheap little headphones. Amazing.

    survived washer and dryer

    • Written by from Walnut Creek

I had just been to an event, took off my earpods, rolled them up and put them in my back pocket. That night I did laundry, I came home the next day to my family saying they had gone through the laundry in my pockets. Good news was they seemed to work, but they had not checked for the phone functions. I did, EVERYTHING was working great! So happy with these earpods, comfortable and durable!

I love the sound quality of the new EarPods but they do not stay in my ear for more than a few seconds before I have to adjust them. I have all but given up on them at this point.

    Great sound

I have been debating for a long time about getting the Bose mei2 headphones, and I am really glad I didn't. Picked these up at my local apple store on Friday and was amazed when I compared them with the 4x more expensive Bose ones. Needless to say I am very glad I went with these and saved a ton of money!!

    Outstanding!

    • Written by from Portland

These "EarPods" are absolutely outstanding! I've used the previous versions with the inline remote, but everything that was great about those has been improved 10-fold. The buttons on the inline remote feel much more solid, and the actual part that goes into the ear fits perfectly. The sound is awesome! I highly recommend buying these!

Left handed, so gave them to my husband

    • Written by from Ventura

I really liked the quality of these head phones generally. They seem to have good sound. I find them comfortable and they even seem a bit more heavy duty than the ear buds (that is, I thought I'd have a less likely chance of destroying the pod wires than I normally do with new ear buds).
However, I am left handed and tend to talk on the phone listening in my left ear, and control my remote with my left hand. This is not a problem with ear buds, even though they are labeled "right" and "left," because the ears are identical. This sounds silly, but I didn't even think about this when I bought my ear pods because I've never had to think of it before. I spent the first day wondering why the sound wasn't very good .... well, I put the right pod in my left ear, so the mic. wasn't facing the correct direction. I tried talking on the phone with the mic/ remote on the right side (so that the speakers would be correct in my ears) but I cannot adjust. :( I swapped for my husband's old ear buds. My question: will Apple make a left-remote version for those of us left-inclined?? :D

    The sweet-spot!

    • Written by from Pendleton

Sound - For $30 the sound quality is excellent. I have read some reviews of poor bass but this just is not the case. Sure there are others out there with more bass, but for those that like an equal balance of sound, you will be happy. The sound is literally shot down your ear canal and makes for great quality without having to adjust the headphones to get that sweet-spot. I used to have to play with my headphones and move them around in my ear until the sound was just right. No more!

Fit - I have also read many reviews that say the earbuds won't stay in their ears. Perhaps these reviewers have odd shaped ear canals (not trying to make fun of anyone... there are a lot of different sizes and shapes out there). That is the only explanation I can find for a negative review on the fit of these earbuds. I am literally sitting here at my computer violently shaking my head in every direction trying to shake these things out of my ears. But they won't fall out! Seriously, these things act like they WANT to stay in your ears.

Comfort - I haven't noticed any discomfort with these earbuds in my ears. They are a new shape compared to my last pair of headphones, but they are very comfortable and I soon forget they are even there. One important note: I have noticed that when listening to music at high volumes, my ears will ache from the sound. I blame this on the fact that the earbuds are aiming all of that sound directly into my ear canal. My advice is to be extra careful with not blowing out your eardrums. If you notice your ears bleeding (I am referring to a review I read on amazon)... well that's a pretty good sign that your music is too loud!

Durability - If you have owned apple headphones before, these seem to be on par with their build quality, perhaps a little better. The volume control/remote/speaker is slightly bigger and more solid feeling than the previous apple headphones w/mic. Overall, these things are made to handle everyday life but would not hold up well under extreme conditions of any kind.

Overall - I am very pleased with these headphones. For the price they offer excellent sound. The way in which they aim the sound down the ear canal is revolutionary in design. This feature alone, in my opinion, places the apple earbuds above any other pair of headphones in this price range. The only downside I can see is the fact that every buyer is taking a risk when purchasing these earbuds. If the shape of their ear is out of the ordinary, these earbuds may be uncomfortable and/or fall out easily. I took the risk and found them to be a perfect fit. Hopefully you have the same luck!

    I am extremely impressed!!

    • Written by from Roxboro

First thing that came to mind when I put these on was "WOW they actually are comfortable and fit really good compared to other headphones!!"... Then when I clicked "Play" then sound was incredible, the bass is just perfect and the sound is super sensitive, I can hear the smallest details like a guitar string... They compare to my Dr. Dre Beats Pro sound quality wise!

Super convenient, never fall out of ears, great sound

    • Written by from Los Altos

I have the standard apple earphones, apple in-ear headphones and the monster beats in-ear headphones. and now the earpods. I love them!

    * Extremely convenient. My ears never hurt from them (unlike many other headphones)
    * They won't fall out of you ears even if you run away from a pack of street dogs. They just sit there (unlike both in-ear models I mentioned above).
    * They don't plug your ears like the in-ear models. You're not isolated from the world. You don't hear your own breathing. AND you can speak on the phone conveniently without hearing yourself extra loud.
    * There are no rubber plugs that get lost or eaten by small kids if they find your earphones laying around.

Now the sound... the sound is actually awesome. Less bass than the monster beats, but it's still very present and distinct. The overall listening experience is very very pleasant! I'm selling both the beats and the apple in-ear headphones now.

Used these On Stage tonight; on Par with In Ear Custom mold $600 headphones

    • Written by from Phoenix

For the price you can't beat these. Yes this is true, but there is so much more to it than that. Apple could sell these for $80 and they'd still be cheap for the quality compared to Boss or Beats or Skull Candy. I previously had the old iphone headphones and these NEW Ear Pods are of much higher quality. I used these on stage tonight and they blew away the $79.99 Skull Candy X2 Skull Candy Double Bass headphones with battery pack that I used in rehearsal 2 days prior. Very impressed! Buy these if you want great sound; I am a musician and I feel these out do most high end headphones and for the price they definitely do; opinions aside.

I couldn't find my original iPhone headphones so I decided to try these. I should've known better. I have very small ears and these were big and painful and kept popping out. Maybe they work for you but not for me.

    Not 100%

    • Written by from Tallahassee

These earpods are stylish enough. If your sitting listening to music and such, they are great. But, once you start doing any exercise activity they pop out of the ear from sweat and movement. I always wondered why the deleted the foam pads from there older model.
