    Sound and Fit Great But...

    • Written by from Sun Prairie

The sound quality of the Earpods is good. They fit well on me. But they almost never last more than 6 months. I have gone through 3 or 4 pairs and the same thing happened to all of them. One of the ear pods stopped giving sound. This last time however they started playing music when I would be watching a video or trying to listen to podcasts. It really seemed to favor playing Weird Al songs. Today it finally gave in and the left ear pod doesn't have sound anymore. The part of the Earpods where they split is broken and the left wires poke out if I don't push it back in. The rubber or whatever it is, by the jack also broke off. They should make both of these parts plastic so they can't tear. I would like to get another pair but I don't want to waste another 30 bucks. Maybe another time Apple.

Sound is great, but they hurt!

    • Written by from Piandimeleto

Basically these Earpods hurt a lot. I found out I'm not the only one to have had this same problem, but I think a special version of this product is required. Try to advertise less the fact that they fit for 90% of people and concentrate on that 10% that still has problems with them! In my opinion the hard plastic and the Mic shape and position hurt my very small ears. Improved version needed, in the meantime I'll go with my beautiful old ones.

    Not great.

    • Written by from Socorro

I have a set of old earbuds from an iPod nano that will literally make your ears vibrate. The rubber is gone and the plastic is starting to crack. On top of that they stay put. These earpods are nowhere near as good in any respect. They might be better than the later crops of earbuds, but they still aren't very good.

I WANT TO HEAR MY MUSIC, NOT WHAT'S AROUND ME!

    • Written by from Sacramento

Don't get me wrong I enjoy the sound of these things, but not the sound of the things around me. These earpods just don't cancel any outside sounds... I have to be somewhere quiet to really listen to my tunes... I need earphones that blast my music and cancel the other sounds, and these just don't get the job done...

    hurts my ears!!!

    • Written by from HARRISBURG

I don't know what kind of ears u ppl have that said these things are comfortable. really?? I hate the design! it hurts my ears so bad that I had to buy some foam covers. it's ok as long as they're on there. my bf said the same thing about his - painful! apple why don't u sell the old design anymore?? they were the most comfortable long wearing ear buds.
the only saving grace for these new things is the volume is better. but that may also be due to upgrading to the 5c. before I had the 4 & volume levels were pretty low all around whether I was using my headset or not.

    Good sound, bad design.

    • Written by from Boambee East

These earphones provide an excellent sound experience however, due to the shape/design of the pods they are very uncomfortable and make my ears ache.

The sound is good, I'm not going to lie. I bought these headphones for the quality I knew they would have, but I absolutely hate the design. It's uncomfortable. It freaking hurts my ears, I'm sorry. Can you please just go back to the old design, there was nothing wrong with it.

Beware: Apple recently changed the cable material

    • Written by from San Francisco

A couple of weeks ago I needed to replace the EarPods I received with my iPhone 5 last year. Nothing wrong with them, they were lost during a trip. So I picked up a new pair of EarPods at an Apple Store in San Francisco. Unfortunately, the new ones have a different cable: the insulation isn't "rubbery" and flexible like the original matte gray cable found on the original EarPods. Instead, the new EarPods have a shiny white insulation that isn't as flexible and instead of coiling up nicely like the old ones, the stiffness of the new ones means they stay a mess as they retain their shape. In short: they feel cheap, like the kind of headphones you can pickup just about anywhere for $10. Very disappointed.

    Annoyed

I have had to replace these at least 4 times. The left bud always ends up feeling bigger then the right and hurts. The sound also becomes muzzley.

No different than the first ones

    • Written by from Garner

As far as sound quality, it's decent no different than the first pair. If you leave them in your ear for a while they start hurting, I thought that was suppose to be what these earbuds were suppose to eliminate. Other than that these earbuds are like any other pair on the market

    Won't stay in ears

    • Written by from New Haven

The sound quality is fine, but they will not stay in my ears. One slight shift of my head and out they come. Very frustrating!

    Good sound, super uncomfortable

    • Written by from Centennial

Good sound, as good as anything in the price range. But they are so uncomfortable. I was expecting a bit more comfort than the old earbuds, but if anything there's less. I'll definitely be going back to Skullcandy or some other budget brand with more comfort.

    Ear pod dissatisfaction

    • Written by from Orlando

I am on my second ear pod set in less than a year. My first pair started crackling in less than three months. I would not recommend them to anyone. I was told at the Apple store that they do not have a warranty if bought in the store. I don't blame them. They are almost worthless.
I have a second set that i bought as a back up. I will probably get 3 months out of them as well.
I will not be buying anything from the Apple Store again...

    Great sound but horrible durability

I love the sound but mine keep breaking. This didn't happen with my earlier earphones from apple. In fact, one if them lasted 6 years!

    My Earholes Hurt

    • Written by from Winter Park

These were supposedly designed to fit the ear perfectly, then why does it feel like my ears have been stretched out by ron jeremy? I can't leave these in for more than 20-30 minutes without being really uncomfortable. I wouldn't purchase. Two stars only because they sound decent. Otherwise it would be 1 star

    "Fragile"

    • Written by from Covington

The EarPods actually fit in my ears. But they turned to junk really fast. Not even a month after I started using them, the right side of the earphones lost about 80% of the sound. It was very uneven, and blancing the L&R sound in the settings didn't help. May be good for some people, but not for me.

EarPods fall out of my ears :-(

    • Written by from Millburn

I like to think I have "normal" ears (I do). They are, well, shaped like normal ears. The problem is, my EarPods constantly fall out and wiggle lose to the point where they are simply not practical to use. Unless I am sitting or standing completely still., they fall out of my ears. Very frustrating. Does anyone else have a similar problem?
