Just got them and they are all they are promised to be!!

    • Written by from LOS ALTOS

Have an iPhone 4s so I can't, for a bit, order the iPhone 5...but I wanted to join the party. The earpods are very comfortable in my ears. Music sound quality is the BEST I've ever heard in an ear bud. Phone quality was great.

Lost a star because the tiny clip that is on the older headsets to cinch the ear wires closer is not part of EarPod?

And I sure would like to be able to mute the microphone during a call from the remote. Will Apple >ever deliver this??

    Good Sound Quality

    • Written by from Louisville

For the price and comfort, this is a good investment. The sound quality is good, but I wouldn't say it's similar to Bose or any other higher end brand. The comfort is amazing...feels like I am not wearing anything.

    Good for $30

    • Written by from Billings

I'm an audio junkie. I love music and when I find head phones that give me brilliant highs as well as crisp lows I'm dedicated. That being said, I found these headphones being good for $30 but their sound wasn't the greatest. I mean if you're coming from a ten dollar pair of headphones then these will blow your mind, but if you're coming from anything else and thinking about upgrading you're best going elsewhere for a clearer sound.

    Amazing sound. Lousy case.

    • Written by from Portsmouth

The sound on these is simply amazing. So far beyond the old earbuds and on par with many of the aftermarket products. The fit is so good and the sound so clear that it actually blocks external sound just a fully sealed earplug. The only reason I don't give 5 starts is their plastic box. They had a chance to give us an easy to use, we'll designed carrying case and this isn't it. The wire fits so tight that the top of the box does not fit around it easily without poking wires in around the edges. Worse, yet, it doesn't snap closed, but is rather just a top that barely stays on and only if you have it tightly closed. How about a design that is easy to just wrap the cord up and get it into a pocket. This requires fumbling and it just doesn't work well.

    Great Sound

    • Written by from Wichita

This is by far the best earphones however they still hurt my ears after an hour of wearing them, I have the issue with most earphones that are built to stay in the ear tightly, the old type was comfortable but they fall out. The sound is great though.

    A good value

    • Written by from San Francisco

These sound pretty good for the money. They are on par with Beats By Dre & Skullcandy because those companies make overpriced consumer grade headphones that should be at least 1/2 the price they charge.

Good, but there's a place for these.

    • Written by from Scottsdale

Bought these yesterday. Here's the deal: Improvement over the last "stock" earbuds? Absolutely! Does "One size fit all? Nope." If you're jogging around, will these fall out of your ear? Probably not. BUT, there definitely is a sweet spot, from a placement standpoint where these earbuds sound the best. If you use these during exercise, you'll be adjusting the placement frequently. The good news is that, for making phone calls, the sound quality is a definite improvement over the last offering. If you're sitting relatively still, the sound quality to listen to music is very good, as well. At a $29.00 price point, definitely worth the price. I also own the $79 in-ear Apple earbuds with the silicon ear tips as well as, a $300+pair of Klipsch earbuds. I can't tell the difference. The sound is amazing. Full, in ear design is best for exercising. For phone calls and relatively stationary music listening, these new earbuds will accomplish one important feat -- for most, what usually is an automatic "buy-a-new-headset-because-Apple's-stock-earbuds-suck" scenario, is not longer the case. For most, these will be a good enough improvement as to stick with what comes with your Apple portable device.

Almost perfect, a bit too much low end

    • Written by from Montevideo

Just got these in the mail so this is my gut review on them without trying to get too detailed on what I do and don't like and why.

    Pros:
    - excellent fit, quite a bit more comfortable than the 'vintage' ones
    - great isolation considering the absence of rubber fittings
    - the remote and mic seem to be closer to the jaw so that should help with voice intelligibility on calls
    - they look pretty cool in person, the photos make them look a little goofy I think

    Cons:
    - the low end is a little too hyped for my liking, definitely right up the alley of fans of Beats (if you're one of THOSE people)
It's not over powering at all and doesn't compromise their overall sound quality it's just a little excessive at certain frequencies. Definitely sound like a lot more than $30 though, total bang for your buck and like any Apple product should serve me well for years.

    Earpods Review 9/17/12

    • Written by from Albertson

Took a star off because I felt like the bass was just too rich for my taste. But yes, the remote is really something special. I love how I can feel the click better and it fits better in my hands.

    Far superior

These are way better than the previous apple earbuds, the bass really kicks! Which is surprising coming out of such tiny buds. Just wish they stayed in my ear better.

    Nicely done

    • Written by from Richfield

First of all, for the money, these are a great deal. Way better than their $30 price point. They stand up very well to the $80 to $150 Sennheiser, Klipsch, and Grado earbuds in my drawer.

These won't replace my other headphones, but they'll be nice when I DON'T want total isolation. These still won't fit everyone's ears perfectly—none but custom monitors would—but all I can say is that they fit mine better than the previous OEM buds. And because they're not jammed in your ear canal, they feel good over extended listening periods, too.

IMHO there are lots of headphone manufacturers in a race to create a bass sound that overwhelms all of the other frequencies. Happily, with these new buds, Apple provides MORE bass than in their previous generation, but they don't cheat us out of the vocal and high frequency bands.

    Good cheap buds!

    YES & YES!!

    • Written by from cary

These earphones are better than the other earphones made with a mic. and a remote by Apple. The earphones somewhat still fall out of my ear, but I can ride with the windows down, talk on the phone, and the other person on the line is not disturbed and does not hear the wind. The sound of the music and just talking to people with the new Apple earphones are MUCH better than the old Apple ear phones that come with a mic. and a remote. While they do still come out of my ears, you cannot beat the sound on the earphones with the price (29.00).

    Earbuds great.........case not so much

    • Written by from Staten Island

You can really hear the difference from the earlier model, especially regarding base response.
Good for non-critical or on the go music listening, much more so than previous model.
Then there is the case. If you have an engineering degree from MIT, then the case may work for you. Getting them out the first time is easy, getting them back in properly and without stressing the connection points is near impossible.

The headphones are very comparable to my power beats. even though my power beats are still better, the ear pods for $29 are the better bang for your buck.

Would have given these Ear Pods five stars but......

    • Written by from HONOLULU

............right before walking out of the store I had plugged them into my iPhone and stuffed the iPhone into my cargo shorts pocket. First thing I noticed was the music sounded so incredibly clear and not muddled like my Klipsch S4i. Then when I got a song with some nice bassy notes I was like wow amazed. It plays a variety of music so very well. The next thing I noticed is that the wire could have been a bit longer. I can't count the number of times I hit the wire with my hand while walking and the pods got pulled out (not completely but enough to have to be stuffed back into my ears.) The Ear Pods do fit into my ears nicely. It's does NOT totally seal out the outside sounds like the silicone on my Klipsch S4i BUT what it lacks in keeping the noise out it more than makes up in quality sound. The other insane thing is that if you're into blasting the music to the point of damaging your ears then these Ear Pods blast ! Even while blasting loud they don't distort until you get near the absolute maximum volume which is wayyyyy loud ! Amazing headphones for a mere $29.00. So my only beef with these is the wire being a bit too short (and I am not that tall, nearly 6 feet) and I would have preferred the color not be white. I don't like announcing to people that I am listening to an Apple product AND I just don't like white. But I will tolerate the color until there comes a time they come out with another color. Why? Because they sound absolutely fantastic !

Sounds better than the old ear buds and better quality, cable feels smooth.
    Volume control works with mbpr
One bad thing is that sound only comes out from the opening , making a sweet spot effect, if you move , the sound changes.

    Improvement but...

    • Written by from North Chelmsford

I do feel that Apple made a significant improvement compared to their other ear buds, however I do not like the feel of them in my ear. I like a more secure and snug fit on headphones and this design makes it impossible. When I was wearing them and bent down they fell right out. Still, the sounds is great, and the cable is strong and secure. I don't feel like they would break easily like other $30 ear buds would. Still searching for that perfect pair.
